I prefer better eye candy over better fps and lower res textures, if i want medium to low graphics i play on them consoles lol.
I have not seen yet any downgrades neither fps chanced, running on gtx 980 ti sli here compared with 16gb of ram and a 5930k cpu i am noty complaining on ultra settings.
If folk complain about its running lesser then before then just put settings from ultra to high, eyecandy is my first priority with pc gaming fps comes later.
That's cool. I agree about the level of detail. I truly can't detect any nerfed textures or anything on my end. Game looks like it always has to me.
To everyone still having performance issues:
It is critical that you zero out all of the tweaks/mods you may have been using for past versions. There have been some pretty significant changes to the rendering system. If you're getting very low FPS, the problem could be the game or your drivers, true -- but it's just as likely that some change to the config files that used to increase your FPS is now having the opposite effect.
-Disable all mods and remove any mod managers. Uninstall
everything.
-Delete your user.config (and any other file in that folder you may have altered). Do NOT delete the save-game folder.
-Validate your installation and local files through Steam / GOG.
-Restore your GPU control panel settings to their defaults for
witcher3.exe.
-Launch the game.
-Be sure EVERYTHING in-game has returned to its default settings through the Options Menus.
-Exit to Windows, and re-launch the game.
-Load each of your saves (at least the ones you intend to play onward from), and see if your performance has improved.
Now you can begin raising settings, tweaking, and adding mods again to see how it goes. It's almost guaranteed not to work exactly as it has in the past. People with high-end cards (like the 980 ti and Titan X) may not notice much difference from 1.08 simply because these cards can bull right through any slowdowns. Others may have to tweak in a very different way to get smooth performance again.
And remember that what works for you is not guaranteed to work for anyone else. Every system is different. Apply tweaks systematically and introduce only a few at a time. Some may not be necessary anymore.
