Wanted to start a thread. But i see there is one here.

YES. The performance has decreased since patch 1.10
Before i had solid 65 fps with my exact ini settings, same OC on GPU and CPU. Now sometimes drops below 60fps in the woods and other places. And some minor stuttering as well

WTF CDPR ??! with every patch u released the performance decreased.

Any fix for this ? Cuz there is obvious performance drops.

Reinstalled win10 fresh + latest driver. All fresh and nothing more than the game.

The game has performance issues after latest patch. Now if i use the same settings i can barely hold 65 solid fps.

I think the problem besides the patch itself is these lines too..
TextureStreamingHeadsDistanceLimitSq=100
TextureStreamingCharacterDistanceLimitSq=225

Im going to put them at half value.

PS: Also when u enable AA in the game on the ini the line doesnt appear, only when its off, in-game.

CDPR needs to explain these.
TextureStreamingHeadsDistanceLimitSq=100
TextureStreamingCharacterDistanceLimitSq=225

and before was like this:
TextureStreamingHeadsDistanceLimit=10
TextureStreamingCharacterDistanceLimit=50

Question: Whats with the Sq at the bottom ?? Why they are huuge from 10 and 50, to 100 and 225 ?!

It's very likely to be using squared distances (for efficiency, don't worry.) instead of 'true' distance, so TextureStreamingHeadsDistanceLimit=10 becoming TextureStreamingHeadsDistanceLimitSq=100 is actually the same value, (10[SUP]2[/SUP] = 100).
If the value of TextureStreamingCharacterDistanceLimit has changed as you say, it's decreased from 50 to 15 (effective).

Dunno, but i've decreased them to 10 and 50, and i think i can see better performance... and didnt noticed absolutelly nothing regarding the NPC's appear and spawn..no problems there.

At least there are some areas that run nasty(and on 1.10 patch even more areas), even on sunlight, on rain + night performance in decreasing alot.

Also the AA in-game doesnt have a performance drop, when u are in towns or open areas, but when u are on deep forest and lots of vegetation the AA starts to kick in and tanks the performance.

Also shadow cascades on 0 and 1, modded to value 2 is ok for shadows, but there is still that shadow line on the ground (eg: trees shadow) when u can see how the shadows becomes more accurate when u approach, its like a line that renders the shadows on high quality/low quality jujding by your position vs. that shadow.

This is ugly and cant be changed, i mean that transition will still be there.

Shadow resolution from 3k and 2k, i dont see a diff in quality, maybe something minor, also 3k shadows tanks performance also...

Thing is that CDPR on their every patch, they messed with the game in terms of tech. stuff, and thats why they decreased performance by each patch they released. Dont mess with things that are fine, CDPR !!!

The crazy thing about 1.10 is when u read the changelog on the Performance section. U read them and ask urself, this is all i wanted, performance improvements in different areas. Like, no other game dev. made this for their game.
And when u install the patch u see that the game RUNS OVERALL SLOWER !!
Sure, the game looks a bit darker, but i dont see other differences vs. 1.08

CDPR u reading this ? Fix the game !! Please undo what tech. engine settings u put in the patch 1.10
DO JUST GAMEPLAY CHANGES, DONT TOUCH ANYMORE THE GAME REGARDING THE TECH ENGINE STUFF !!

lol

Marcin tweeted something for you last week.

Hint: anything behond 24 (human eye) x 2 (Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem) fps asks you cybernetic eyes to notice a difference. Everything else is marketting bs.

Trying to get more than 48fps full images in anything is just silly.

96 for TV, because it's half images - so technically, yes, best tv screens are 100 Hz today, that's because it's a TV screen.
If PC sellers tells you 100 Hz is good, well, that's bs because PC image are full images and TV half images.
PC @ 60-65Hz, it's TV @ 120-130Hz.
So you've got a big trouble there, calling WTFs and such ? => hence my lol.

Dont start a fps war.
60+ fps solid and 144hz is better NO MATTER WHAT.

This game ran very nice before patch 1.10.

Try playing on Gsync monitor below 40FPS. With Gsync monitor, sadly, you painfully notice anything below 50 - it gets choppy as hell. Also, play something like Arkham Asylum/City on 1440p with 144hz before even talking. It looks amazing. You know nothing, didn't even try it and talk like an expert, which you are not.

With this patch I noticed the shadows have sometimes shitty grain effect - it looks god awful.

Because gsync is useless. It changes the refresh rate vs. fps. For example 50fps = 50hz on gsync. And on normal 144hz monitor, 50fps is 144hz.

And 50fps on 144hz feels more faster than 50fps on 50hz. Thats why normal 144hz monitors are better than gsync. U dont see tearing on 144hz normal monitors, only little, when u run at 60+ fps u dont see tearing.

Performance seems to have increased a little overall. I get about 3-5 more FPS in Novigrad, but I see more drops whenever I get near populated places, probably due to pop in fix. Although not 100% erradicated, it's a lot less frequent than before. (Character and NPC pop in is better; buildings, roofs, details and shadows still pop as always).
Also there is a place near Triss' house that almost slices my framerate in half, going from 60 to the low 30s.
And yes I can't stress that enough, the shadows look ugly, there's these weird dithering "grainy" ones, and the regular ones, which you can see appearing a few meters in front of Geralt. (Especially visible inside candle lit buildings)
Tweaking helps, but the change is almost negligible.

What pop-in fix ? I never had any problems with pop-ins including NPC's pre patch 1.10....

Yes i have the exact problem (bug). The frame drop near Triss house in Novigrad (The Bits to be exact) is crazy and i have seen other places where similar thing happens (basically the GPU usage in these locations goes low and framerate is cut in half). This performance "bug" is since patch 1.07 and it haven't been fixed yet.

Hint#2 for you : 24x2 = 48.
You and me just mathematicly can't see the difference between 50 fps or 16846301613510.535043450 fps.

About Arkham Asylum, are you talking about a console version whose video output goes on TV or a PC game whose output goes on a monitor ? How and by who is it counted ? Are animations of this game made in 1440p/144 Hz anyway ? => lol again

About the "expert comment", well, you know, stuff... 8)

You are then a lucky one, because it's been present since the very first day, and it got worse after 1.07.
The best example I can give you are the priests in Novigrad, them and their audience used to appear out of nowhere when you got close. An example of detail pop in, in Hierarch square, you can see some wood appear on the base of the pyre when you get close to it.

#1: are the game, your OS and eventually your virtual memory pagefile installed on the same physical HD ?
#2: what are your HDD's speeds ?

My config is SSD for OS, 10k Raptor HDD for the game, and (no pagefile or pagefile on another raptor HDD I can't remember), I don't see this.

I only saw one issue regarding pop-ins NPC's some folk praying at a statue on a crossroad. They spawned when i was there after 1-2 sec. but afterwards didnt had any problem.

#1 Yes everything is in the same HDD, I only have one in my PC.
#2 My HDD is a 1TB Toshiba DT01ACA100, 7200RPM connected to one of my MOBO's 6Gb/s SATA ports.

Sameproblem here (1.10) !
In Novigrad (near Triss house) the GPU usage wentsdown at the exact same places after about 40 seconds of playing. The result:shuttering.

I have 2 rigs (should have no problems witheverything on high/ 1920x1080) :

1. Xeon1231 / GTX 970 / Win10/ 16GB/ 256GB SSD with NO PROBLEM !

2. (the better Rig) : i7 4970K / GTX 970 / Win 10 Proffesional /16GB / 256GB SSD with SHUTTERING PROBLEM (fps going to 50)

Same drivers, same installation of witcher and gog .....

What the hell ???

The game looks a bit better now, its darker has more fog and probably other minor things. This coud be the issue fro performance problems. But its not all, could be other bugs as well causing performance issues. Im am sure they will come up with a fix. Cuz this patch really made things worse.

yes as you can see the only difference on your rigs is the CPU. so most probably this is some type of CPU bottleneck and it happens with some types of cpu's, and no matter if it's high end or low end CPU(amd or intel) it's more of a luck or bad luck thing also no matter what video option (ultra or low) the frame drop is there no matter what. also if i save and load in that spot the framerate and gpu usage is fixed, but if i leave the area and come back again the bad framerate is back too. so this must be a perfomance bug that i hope it will be fixed.
