Performance Issues

+
Last time I've played the game was at the end of 2022 and I used to get about 75+ fps and 55-60 in crowded areas with a 3600x and 2060 Super.
I obviously wanted to play it again with the new updates and all that so I just ran the game on High with no RT knowingly that I'd get the same performance and found out that I was getting about 40 in the bar benchmark and 30 on the street.

I turned down everything to low or off and still getting just above 50 in the bar and around 40 on the street which is abysmal. Going from 60-75ish on high to 40 and 50 on low with DLSS and no RT is unplayable.

It seems a lot of people have this issue as well, some with PCs much better than mine.

I don't say you don't have any issue, but the requirements of the game changed for the 2.0 update. So on the same system/specs, the performances should indeed take a little hit, in theory.
At first, be sure you tried everything suggested by the support. If it doesn't work, you should directly contact the support ("contact us" button).

Previous/New requirements

Yeah, I had a similar issue as well. I played with the same spec last year, and the performance was pretty lower than when I played in early 2021. I had no choice but to lower some graphic options  Also I checked the updated Smasher boss fight before, and FPS was dropping like hell. Which I wish they were more thorough in making it less taxing on performance, instead of adding VFX from animation that I never wanted.

Problem is, the new requirement should be only applied to Phantom Liberty, isn't it? Certain parts of PL can be very demanding on the performance, but it shouldn't be affecting the base game itself, too. Yet it felt like the overall requirement went higher during my playthrough

Thanks for the reply, I didn't know that the requirements were changed but still.. even on the lowest settings I should be getting more than that. I've ran the game and was getting 32-35 fps by just looking in the mirror.

Nope, it concern the game in +2.0. They make it clear before the release of it.
It's noticed on the page ;)
Below requirements apply to both the base game and Phantom Liberty, starting with Update 2.0.

Just to be sure, how are you usages? (CPU/GPU/RAM/...)
Did you check? Just to be sure it doesn't point out a possible "culprit" to low performances (like a low GPU usage)

Right, I read that last year but must've forgotten about that since it's been quite a while. The picture has Phantom Liberty on top of requirements and got confused :cool:Still, don't quite understand why it has to be quite taxing, there hasn't been enough visual changes to justify that

To be honest, I have no idea... But as far as I understood, the biggest "increase" its for CPUs, so the game in +2.0 seem to be (way) more demanding on CPUs than before. So I guess it's not all about graphics.

Just a note that the mirrors have always been among the most graphically intensive elements of the game. As I understand it they're rendering a wholly separate model of V for you to look at and the game used to reduce the resolution of the reflection to cope with it (don't know if it still does). About the only other thing so conspicuously intensive in the base game was the trees scene in the meditation quest. There will, of course, now be scenes in Phantom Liberty that push things even further.
