Perk shard consumable gives 2 perks

I found a couple of "perk shards" as loot on corpses, and as with most loot I have the option to either take it (F key) or use it right away (R key). Assuming default key bindings.
The problem is that if you take the perk shard with the R key, you will get two perk points instead of one. When you loot it normally with the F key, you end up with only one perk point; it gets consumed anyways and doesn't end up in your inventory either way.
If anyone else can find perk shards, can you confirm this to make sure it's not just a random bugged loot for me?

over a few playthroughs once or twice iirc there was an enemy that had two perk shards on em, is that what you're referring to?

Not at all, this is one single perk shard that gave two perk points if consumed with [R]. I saved and reloaded a few times to make sure for this case.

Yes I noticed this too. There are 9 perk shards that I know of and if you "learn" them (press the R key) instead of "take" them (press the F key), you will get 18 perk points instead of 9.

On the one hand I can acknowledge this is definitely a bug and should probably be fixed. On the other hand, I benefited from it and would be kinda sad on my next playthrough if I had 9 less perk points with which to plan my character.
