Person in Distress (Claywich Trader) bug question for CDPR

After killing all of the bandits at the bandit camp in Velen, I did not get a key to drop, so I reloaded and killed them all again. Still no key. I did this several times and never got a key, so I just figured it was a bug that would be addressed eventually and I carried on with my game. I left the bandits dead and after reading posts about people actually getting a key to drop after several attempts, I'm worried I made the wrong choice.

CDPR, is this something that when fixed, will be retroactive and allow us to free the trader even if we already wiped the bandit camp out? Will you allow the bandits to respawn or will the merchant just free himself? I can be patient and wait for the patch, I just want to know what kind of fix are you looking to implement?

Clearly they aren't aware of it. It was not noted in the most recent patch.

This merchant needs to literally just be dragged and dropped in town. Those last two cards are needed for my achievement and I can't beat the game until I get them.

If it's not that simple they have to refresh the bandits and have them spawn again for those of us that killed the leader who dropped nothing and proceeded through the game expecting to come back and try again, which doesn't work.

Most time consuming achievement in the game and it's bugged because of this stupid merchant.

Instead they're more worried about meaningless bugs like candles and Geralt's interactions with them.

FIX THIS MERCHANT! Need to finish this game before more games start coming out that I want to play.

Please fix Bandit camp that Releases Claywich Gwent Merchant

Im on my second run through Witcher 3 on death march and I came back to this camp and again the Bandit leader is no where to be found. As far as I can tell this merchant is the only one that sells/rewards Puttkammer and Sweers

Thanks.

And there was a post right at the top of the same forum section on exactly the same topic.

Please add to existing threads, unless you want the devs to think that there's only one person having this problem, so there's no need to look at it.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

We are aware of this issue (despawning bandits/ lack of key) and currently working on a solution. Fix for this will arrive along with one of the upcoming patches.

Happy hunting, witchers!

So, as you see they are aware of this. !!!

yeah they were aware of this back on the 22nd. seems like they're dropping the ball a little bit. maybe i should just pop in the game and see if they magically fixed it without noting it in the patch. you never know. I just want to finish the damn game and start a death march difficulty. I guess I technically COULD. I would just need to make sure I have back up saves, but i'm pretty sure unless I press "continue" I think if I try to load any older updates it won't work. so I think i'm still stuck.
