"... even know the majority of us prefer 3rd person perspective that 1st person is here to stay."
"The number one thing you should do with a video game that wants to be with the gaming community,"
"Kinda comes off as them just having used the fans for free publicity and hype because they knew the hype would have died down massively had fans known it was going to be First Person before E3 hit."

From the survey on this thread.

CDPRs are doing what most of their fans want. The fact that they can't please everyone does not make it legitimate to hope that the game will be a failure.

You are doing it all wrong.

..Interesting you quote a poll while ignoring the fact that the Third Person options are the ones in the lead.

The survey is poor but you can clearly see that FEW people that like TPP want CP to be FPP while the most of people that want FPP fo CP, likes both.

You have 89 subjects that like TPP and do not like FPP and have 22 that likes FPP and do not like TPP - That is kinda rejection index - So FPP has the rejection of 80.18% and TPP has a rejection of 19.82%. People that like both can be ignored, since, obviously they like both, they will purchase anyway, so as the crossed categories opinions.

What is so hard about it?

Not in CP2077.
Really now? Let's just take that pic of yours and highlight a few important things you seem to have glossed over.. I'll even colour code it for you~

colorcoded.jpg

For starters, let's take a look and see how many votes there are.. 267. And out of those votes, the ones voting for Pro-FPP options on this poll consist of 112 votes. Not a bad number, by any stretch, no. However, how many of those 112 votes would be fine with the game being Both FPP/TPP, based on the simple fact that they picked options that included TPP? Why it appears to be 90 out of 112 people would either be okay with TPP, or have it as their default preference. Meaning the actual number of people who exclusively want FPP are only 22 out of 267.

Now, how many are Pro-TPP in some form or another, be it accepting both, or preferring TPP outright? 191 out of 267. Out of which the number of exclusively TPP polled number 89 out of 267.

Now, let's look at how many Third Person people would be willing to compromise and share the perspective with the First Person crowd. 107 out of 267.

And how many would First Person people be willing to compromise and share the perspective with the Third Person crowd? 32 out of 267. But most telling of that is that of the exclusively First Person preferrant crowd, a whole ZERO people voted preferring FPP and being interested in TPP being in the game.

What this means is that the amount of people who are open to or outright prefer TPP is not only the majority, but that they are also willing to share and act in a communal fashion, while the FPP crowd selfishly wants things their way only, despite being the effective minority.

What is the point of customization and dynamic appearance if you play FPP and can look at the "beauty" only during cutscenes? My first impression when i saw a gamelpay: "It is Deus Ex, just a little bit better". And i don't like Deus Ex. I really expected 3d person view in CP 2077.

Huh? I've said in here a few times I prefer TPP ... so I'm not sure why you disagree with me. I've just accepted that they're doing FPP, and think the justifications they've offered are perfectly reasonable.

I disagree that this is a closed matter... i am pretty sure I mean that.

So it's seems the only people who are baking CDPR only appreciate the third person point of view ...

It's incredible to read something like that. Having a good dialogue with the comminity is one thing, but we can't dictate what is the best choice because it's a question of point of view. Do you even realize what you're saying ? That CDPR couldn't be at the level of rockstar just for a case of view ? Really ?

Do you realize that it' just their second major IP, not like rockstar or Bethesda, who had many games to experiment, to impose their vision ?
This is not CDPR being stubborn, this just some players who try to impose their wishes, wathever the reason is.
Debate can be sane, but saying things like " You could be as good as Rockstar or Bethesda (Bethesda ... sigh), or be like Ubisoft" ... Geez, it's not debate anymore.

You have the right to be disappointed by their choice.
But Cyberpunk is not the witcher saga. It's something completely new for them. A new IP, with a new identity. It's bold and brave to try something new.

You seem to have taken one word out of context it may be my fault for not highlight that word but it was the word may . So what you have said about this...

If what you say is true then Cyberpunk may soon face a long road, one where slowly nothing original will be seen for miles. The number one thing you should do with a video game that wants to be with the gaming community, is answer the smallest of request. Those kinda of things go along way and, the Community, nor the, Internet forgets the Good or Bad. So take this to heart when I say this CD Projekt Red... You could be as good or better then RockStar and Bethesda or you could be on par with Ubisoft. You technically win in both cases, but you can make bank from the start and with the people backing you making the game smoother than silk in game development. Or you can make bank without the people backing you and take yrs to develop your game to what it should have been in the first place. Sorry but, that the hard truth so maybe you should try to pander a little to your community then being stubborn just to be stubborn. Disappointment is not the only thing that will be across the internet if more topics are shut down to be shut down.

Is out of context. Your last line I found however, to be correct in one way. Due to it being since it is a new series IF what I said happens Cyberpunk is in for the ringer when it comes to later game development.

Well I don't think the Community does. And that leads to a important point here is A Quote by Abraham Lincoln: “A house divided against itself cannot stand." That is how this topic has been Vote wise, comments mostly tpp or tpp option.

If CD Projekt Red doesn't change there stance they are being stubborn just to be stubborn. And that's outright a childish way to deal with potential sales, people now watch what a company does over development. And that can stack in 1 of 2 ways in favor or out of favor for said game. Look I not a hater of CD Projekt Red by any means I just stating what has happen and what may happen because. Video Games are no exception to the rule that History repeats itself, if you take a look at EA you can see what I'm talking about. But that is of course a very extreme case, CD Projekt Red I believe could never get close to that. Ubisoft level of crazy good/bad I think is in the cards if they continue to go down this I do what I want with no pander no wonder. But like Ubisoft after the start launch they would just fix everything with time, aka a lot of time. I like CD Projekt Red and how they are original but, in my point of view to like something you got to know and call out on the bad stuff of that thing you like. I'm just letting my view be stated so maybe just with the slightest chance CD Projekt Red will change there mind and get back on the Great Track they were on before this stubbornness came from no where.

A valid point if they had a tpp view they could make themselves stand 100% differently from Deus Ex.

To those who have trouble playing FPP because of motion sickness I hope you are able to play it somehow and to those like me who don't enjoy first person games but very much want a cyberpunk RPG, I hope the game satisfies some of that hunger.

As for me well, I don't know what to think anymore. I still love the fellas at CDPR but obviously they're a corporation first and my friend last and the simple fact is that there is more money in first person shooters.

To quote my annoying cousin, "It is what it is."

> The one thing makes Dying Light a stand up from all the zombie games, is not only the zombies or story...

> But how the first person perspective that compiles an experience into this already over-saturated theme making FFP an experience the best it is.

> The same goes with Cyberpunk2077, we have already seen why this game is and have been made as such, the only thing it needs to be more in production to be polish is the gunplay.

But does have to be there simply no reason for no tpp, they wouldn't have to take time and resource for a extended/overly extended period of time just to add tpp in as well it's not complicate. There being stubborn at least I think because from a marketing aspect there increasing a potential for loss sales not a gain.

Sure you can half the conversation if your point of view is like that, but for most tpp is also a enjoyable way to not only see the story but to see are character and see are "projekt"-ed (see what I did there;)) designs that we made in full glory. As well as new ways to play, just because it works for the few it doesn't give anything to many. As the poll/comments on top shows most see Cyberpunk 2077, as a game where aspect and detail means a lot but if you don't have the best ways to view those aspect and detail they were made for not.

So as Rawls posted already, and I'm posting again, ( and probably will again) this discussion is purely circular now.

Lilayah, Community Manager : "Ok, so to end all current and future FPP/TPP discussions. We won't change from FPP to TPP or add option to switch freely between those two. We chose FPP for narrative reasons and we will STICK with it. We have in mind those that suffer from motions sickness etc but this won't make us change decision. Sorry for disappointment it may have caused. "

Not sure how long or if we will leave this open. Like it or not, an artist(s) have a vision and they stick to that vision.
And in the end, it's their game.

As to the "shareholders" argument, just no. First, the by-far largest voting block is CDPR heads - the people that made this decision. Second, shareholders love CDPR decisions - stock just keeps going up.

There is no chance of some "outside rescue" by some mythical powerful outside force.

You can pretend otherwise, but that's the way things are. Cyberpunk 2077 is primarily a First Person Perspective game.

If you really can't accept that, you might want to move on rather than keep pretending it's going to change.
