I really really really doubt we will get Third person options - any more than we saw first person options in Witcher.

CDPR has a vision and they are successful and, well, great, because they stick to it. Not in all the tiny details but the big important stuff, oh yes.

So I sincerely doubt we will see any kind of TPP option. Modders and photo mode are probably the only hope there.

I confess to enjoying seeing my character too - I'm playing F4 as Snake Plissken and he looks very cool in Third Person - but I'm also used to not seeing my Cpunk character in tabletop when I play.

So it's not like it will affect my roleplay at all. Situation normal for most Cyberpunk 2020 gamers.

No, we've seen that. We see that now.

Billion dollar company, superbly lauded games. They are successful, no doubt. Whether you want to hold them to the "what have you done lately" standard or not, they are successful by any reasonable standard of today.

If EA can survive poor-quality games and being voted Worst Company In America, CDPR can survive Gwent.

Well aren't you the cynical one! :p

Seriously though, their track record is really good given how few games they've made. OT:

I also wanted TP. Badly. There's a number of technical reasons for this that have already been discussed, but for the critics of FP I want to point one thing out: CDPR might actually innovate in this regard, using the viewpoint in new ways. Certainty if we look at the demo's reception, everyone was super impressed by the sense of connection to V, the immersive environment as well as the cinematic quality. So on that front I'm excited to see their take on FP.

If I would to choose between playing the game with one perspective imposed to us, but really polished or game with FPP & TPP for my personal taste, but in the other hand underdone... I think I would choose first option.

I don't think they would not be able to deliver polished game with both perspectives. They have enough time to do it. The reason they won't do it is simply different. They wan't us to make use of all those cyber optics and other stuff which simply would not fit into third person perspective. Switching between FPP and TPP is good for games where you do not have any special vision modes. As an example AvP, playing as predator in TPP would be some misunderstanding.

I think would be cool a third person view to look in your character or while exploring the map... It's so much easier int third person! But it's true first person is better this case as it have fps elements.

If it was as Elder Scrolls, would be better! The option to choose between views is so useful in Skyrim!

Not sure if re-opening this was really needed. CDPR made it clear they wont be implementing tpp and since the topic was closed when the issue was still hot, most people have moved on. Which I guess was the idea? :cautious:

For my part, I'll be glad to see tpp mods when they come out, thought I'd certainly much prefer if CDPR did it rather than fans.

Lots of people still need to vent.
And maybe we can convince some to give it a chance, it won't be as bad as they think.

Every time I hear this, I remember all the times such a phrase was correct, but only because it was much, much worse :p

"It won't be as bad as I think, right? Let me just pop this in..."
*flamethrower nozzle pops out of game system*
"What."
*flamethrower starts hosing down room*
"Noooo! I was right! Stop! Please be as bad as I think! Stop! AAAAAHHHHHH!"

And that's the thing CDPR want to avoid in creating of Cyberpunk 2077! They want us to feel overwhelmed by huge city and big crowds... They want us to be supersensitive towards danger that Night City brings. When you see your character, while exploring or fighting, you're more confident about background around you and your own safety. When you're playing through your character eyes things start to look a little personal.
Let's ask ourselfs question why most of the time horror games are created in first person perspective? (I know, of course, that we can find some exceptions) Your view on the action limits what your own eyes can see. You cannot see what's behind you & when opponent strikes, he strikes towards camera, no character you're controling safely behind his back.
In Cyberpunk 2077 we won't be The White Wolf. When you're starting to play as Geralt (doesn't matter which game) you've got already 2 things V won't have in Cyberpunk (at the start, for sure). That's fame (thanks Dandelion!) and of course skills + abilities far greater than most of the people. In Cyberpunk 2077 we'll be like chicken chaser from Fable, noone who needs to make a name for himself/herself. Name in a city full of people as ambitious as V, with better connections & of course more powerful.
I think it's really important for CD Projekt Red to show that in many aspects, including perspective. I know that switchable would be great for some people, but that wouldn't be the same with that one really important aspect...making us feel danger from prolog to epilog.
