Perturbator - Future Club / Cyberpunk 2077 Edit (Hotline Miami Recording Artist!)

So..you..hate the original?

Sounds hatey!

Do I sound like I hate kibble? *munchmunchmunch* It serves the purpose of delivering nutrition. The original song served the purpose of having background music. Whereas I actually had an emotional response to Peturbator, as it reminded me of (while still being original and fresh) all the great soundtracks to 80's and 90's cyberpunk vhs glory. That is my internal soundtrack to playing CP2020, thus I leapt out of my chair in awe and got a bit teary when I heard it. Eventually I listened to the original again, and didn't even recognise it.

TL;DR: Nope, indifference < hate.

I miss Beethoven.... and Mozart......

Perturbator doesn't sounds bad, but the overall mood don't exactly fit with the cyberpunk world IMO.
It fits the trailer, but i doubt it would be accurate, when you'll be in some dark and crazy places of Night City.
Perturbator would be nice for a "hype" club at corpo plazza for example.
I think it lacks the "raw & dirty urban" feeling, it wouldn't fit a drug deal, a street-shootout, or a gang beatdown for example.
When i listen to Perturbator, i close my eyes, i see some futuristic city, by night, with a lot of neon-lights, it would be awesome for a "first look" at Night City, you know, at the begining of the game, looking at Night City, flying around or something.
But, IMO, it don't fit what's IN Night City, yes there are all those nice and glowing stuff, but behing it hides the corruption, the darkness, the drug, the poverty, the nihilism, the urban warfare, etc... it's too much on the "bright side".
At least, that's how i feel it.

I'd be more interested in darker tunes, more "serious" feeling, something up-to-date, keeping the "urban badass" style Cyberpunk had, Perturbator plays a lot on the nostalgia factor, i like the concept, but i'd see it more in a game like Mass Effect, something more "spaceporn" oriented, it sounds too "beautifull", too futuristic, i don't know if you see what i mean.
IMO, in cyberpunk, even music needs to have a punk's "Yeah! Fuck You Too!!" feeling.

Just some example of songs i play during my pnp game.

The Cyber.

The Punk.

Mix of Both = Cyberpunk lol

Anyway, it's just a matter of taste, and if they put radio in the game, there's good chance that there'll be a good mix of every music style for everyone.

you should put all your music ideas in the soundtrack thread

Hehe I have, but I doubt CDPR will really look at it.
Anyway, i post some stuff time to time (trying to not over-spamming it lol), even if cyberpunk isn't a music style, music in media (movies, games, etc...) really fit the mood of the game / scene, you can make a very submersive cinematic with the good choice of music.
And seeing the music-mood of 2020 (Dead Kennedy's logo, spiked leather jacket and mohawk), i doubt 77 will be "peacefull music" friendly for the most part.
