Photo mode bug

The game is maxed out with path tracing and ray reconstruction, 4K DLSS Performance transformer.

The issue is in photomode after the 2.3 update and that is some graphical effects are worse in photomode. Mainly shadows and contact shadows, but also reflections are worse and some lights. It can be seen in the screen comparisons.
The screens are taken with the Steam app, even in photomode.

Has anyone encountered something similar?

I think I figured it out what the problem is, the Photomode doesn't seem to take Ray Reconstruction into account and we know RR helps with those little details and contact shadows.

You can see here beneath the wrench on the right or at the legs of the robot, basically everything on the table how the contact shadows are missing in Photomode.


And I tested this by taking a screen with no Ray Reconstruction and comparing it to Photomode with Ray Reconstruction and they are pretty much the same with very little differences. I mainly look at the shadows and the contact shadows, some changes with the lighting are due to character moving or time of say passing.





At least I have a sort of answer, but I don't know if it's just me, maybe a new install or not would fix.

I know photomode usually modifies the image, but in Cyberpunk it didn't used to modify the image prior to this update, at least not when taking the screens through Windows or Steam.

I have here an old comparison and the images are almost identical, maybe higher resolution the photomode one, but that's it.


It's not a big deal, I just got used to taking screens through photomode as it hides the HUD, it's a chore to deactivate it in the menu for every single screenshot.
Sorry for the rambling, if anyone is having this issue this is what I discovered.
 
I'm necroing this thread because I finally figured it out and it's not my PC that's to blame. And for anyone interested or/and has my issue as well.

It's the 2.3 update that screwed up photomode when playing with path tracing and ray reconstruction enabled.

I've made a clean install of CP and reverted to the 2.21 old update on Steam beta and it fixed the issue. Started a new game and these are the results:

This is the latest update, 2.31, gameplay vs photomode, path tracing with ray reconstruction.


And this is immediately taken with the old 2.21 update.


So it's clear that the 2.3 update somehow is removing ray reconstruction when I enable photomode.
It's weird that nobody seems to have this issue or notices it, I tried to ask someone from CD support, but can't seem to be able to contact them.
