I know we already talked about this, but maybe do it like Dragon Age Origins?

Not only could you could you get quests that involved your race but your class as well.

Sure we only play as humans but theres still a big possibility CDPR can implement story elements in the role we play.

Making our role choosing much more exciting.

yes, that's ok, to choose different classes, races, etc, what i mean is to play differnt characters during the game, that have no relation between each other, like the same story seen by different points of view, like gta v, i don't like it at all,

I have hard time seeing for instance a Rockerboy, a Corporate, a Media, a Fixer class characters having the same plot moving forward. Having to play different protagonist with specific missions for their classes is the (only) way to go imo. Atleast for the first game.

Think about a plotline that strives towards a personal and more human goal. A more philosophical journey, if you will, where the Career restrictions and implications dictate the angle from which you look at the various plot points, the means with which you can approach them, and thematic results.

And yet, we played all of these classes in the PnP and the plots managed to cover all the bases...

we would get a fuller picture of the Cyberpunk world if we played different characters with different roles in society.

i don't like the idea at all to be honest
i want c77 to be more or less like the witcher with more customization

i want the story to be one story with one character (you)
the different classes should give you more diverse combat/dialogue options or something but it should still be one , long satisfying story

I think it could be great, or maybe not, if you have continues like in the old games but you don´t know how many, and if somebody kill you a person or something like it rescue you and heal and you then you know he. But for example it has consequencies you have and scar or you lose a leg and you need and implant, or you lose a hand or something like that it could be good in the way you develop your character and you face the combats, and at the same time it brings more realism to the game.

i like the system from shadow of mordor, all abilities, skills, powers, etc are available, there are no classes, if you get enough xp, you activae a skill, and that's it, you choose what you get, and you choose what you use, without classes restrictions, for example you chose one class but there is a very awesome skill that is not available because it belongs to another class,
but without classes and a lot of skills available everyone is happy for they can choose what they use, and every playstyle is different

the system of the witcher 2 is also very good, there are three specializations, but all abilities and skills are available rom the beginning, three different playthroughs and you become absolutely powerful and awesome in different ways,
you need to start over, but i don't think it will be a problem...

If they dont do this. i wish they would do different beginnings depending on what class you are. Like Dragon age origins did which was amazing.

Such a system would work just fine IF you have to pick and choose. However with many games by end-game you have them all which totally defeats the point.

That, or... you don't get them all (at least without exxxtreme XP grinding), but they are so pisspoorly designed that only a handful is of any worth anyway so it really doesn't matter one way or another; they're for flavor and an illusion of "progress" more than anything else.

It should be possible for the player to choose a Role and then continue playing that role until the end. There could possibly be a mechanic for changing careers or resetting the character to pick another Role. I dont like mechanics that force the player into a Role. There should be ways for every Role to play the game, to progress in the main story, and so on. There may be Role-specific quests, though.

To the best of my knowledge Cyberpunk has a unique ability associated with each role. So if you add that unique ability to each role, then have an Origin story like DAO had, except have it bigger and more impactful on the game, then that would be great.

After all the Origin stories in DA:O were fantastic, but after getting to Ostagar it was very rare for any of them to have much of an impact on you. Sure when you returned to the mage tower as a mage you were greeted with open arms, but for the most part those instances wer few and far between.

Not to mention other than that unique ability, and the fact that you got a bonus to various skills, I think the roles mostly played the same in 2020. Meaning any character can gain any skill, use any weapon, etc. with no limits.

Mind you I only took a cursory look at the rule set, I never played a game.

PS.

Don't forget player housing, which I think would fit right at home here.

There aren't "Classes" in Cyberpunk, there are Roles
It's not "Dungeon & Dragon" or Diablo 3, like "You are the barbarian, you only can use axes and you are the wizard, etc..."

Here, your role doesn't force you to "make only one thing", you can still be a Solo and hack around (granted you have enought INT and hacking skills).
Roles only shows what your character is the best at, but you still can do whatever you want.

If the CP2020 Roles thing is still here, I'm fine with it.

I'd be more bored with the "system everyone use to be like everyone", where your character is "the badass hero" who have every skills at 100% at the end of the game.
I mean, everyone have a speciality, some are artists, some are ingeneers, some are good with a computer, some can't fight, some can make a big bully guy eat drit in 2 punches.

Roles outline the personality of your character, not like those games where your character is "a good artist-engineer-explosive expert-who can fight anyone-while-hacking-the-NSA-at-the-same-time".

I don't want this game to stick to the "12yo wet dream" of soldier/cop/action-guy/whatever.

I'd love to be able to play a crooked corporate, a politician (with Rockerboy), or whatever.
Things that doesn't rely on "fighting", but mostly on talking and avoiding fighting most of the time, because my character isn't made for that..

Just not something like Fallout 4 where everything ends up in "get a gun and kill those"

Cyberpunk would be more on the "You'll have to kill it if you can't find a better way to push it out of your way".
I don't want my "soon-to-be-mayor" to have the skills of Rambo, he'd probably pays solos for that.
Roles adds a lot of layers in the game that would become blurry if removed.

At least, that's how I see it.
