Alright guys, I trust you my fellow Witcherites enough to buy and start Planetscape: Torment.
I'll do so tomorrow and let you know what I think!

Be prepared to replace Geralt as your favorite protagonist.KnightofPhoenix said:Alright guys, I trust you my fellow Witcherites enough to buy and start Planetscape: Torment.

Right totally forgot so I just said Geralt thinking it was a good bet.KnightofPhoenix said:He never was, Michael Thorton is. But I'm looking forward to seeing him.
Amazon has some used copies on sale, quite cheap, but making the game work on Win7 will require some googling. There's also the PS3 version available for download from the Sony store. But it seems that the PC version falls into the abandonware category nowadays, the published doesn't seem to be concerned about the copyright and the game is available for free on various sites, Abandonia among the others. Anyways Blood Omen is really a standalone game, the sequels are just inspired by the original, I personally didn't like them much.KnightofPhoenix said:Also considering playing the blood omen and legacy of Kain saga, but I can only find the Legacy trilogy on GOG and not blood omen. Anyone know where I can find them?
They do have the same formula, but I did like Jade Empire a lot.SystemShock7 said:Last week I found my Jade Empire DVD, so I installed it and replayed it. While playing the game, I came to the conclusion that all BioWare games play the exact same, just with different themes.
I was never comparing it to real life. Some people like to role play, and whilst I don't really get into it that much, I do like to maintain the realism of the game world, within reason. And using the console totally breaks that.SystemShock7 said:Yeah, break realism in a game that has dragons, man-cats, man-lizards, elves, magic, everyone can shoot fireballs out of their hands, werewolves, vampires, daemons and gods who speak to humans, everyone walks and runs with both arms extended in front of them (in the very realistic 1st person view), carrying the equivalent of 500 lbs, etc etc etc etc etc...
I guess I have derailed this thread quite a bit. I'll stop here.
Just thought I'd point out that it actually is Planescape, not PlanetKnightofPhoenix said:They do have the same formula, but I did like Jade Empire a lot.
I am postponing my Planetscape playthrough, gonna play the Legacy of Kain games!
Blood Omen is cool thus far (Vampiric werewofl?!?!).
Ha! I never noticed it was Planescape, always thought it was planet haha. Thanks for pointing it out.Volsung said:Just thought I'd point out that it actually is Planescape, not Planet![]()
I got Jade Empire Special Edition on a recent Steam sale. Good to know it comes with your recommendation.
I did the same thing. I dragged my feet about playing Planescape: Torment for years, because I don't like science fiction games much (even though I love SF novels). Finally, my husband said, "It's PLANEscape. There's no 't' in that word." Oh. Oops. Well, maybe I'll play it, then.KnightofPhoenix said:Ha!
