Should finish DX:HR. Don't know why, but I lost interest all of a sudden very close to the end.

And Legacy of Kain series is something I should play as well, I have been postponing the experience for far too long and they are 'gathering dust' in my GoG library.

Okay more Legacy of Kain, FUCK YEAH!

I fear what we'll hear next is re-interpretation, re-imagining, broader audience and a new direction. If so i'm going to throw a wobbler of gargantuan, mythological proportions.

For the moment however I will indulge in that bitter and terrible illusion, hope. Even if it is the first step on the road to disappointment.

P.S. If they drop Simon Templeman i'll declare war.

So I ended up getting Alan Wake and I'm playing it with my wife.

The game is fun, engaging and extremely cinematic. It does remind me of Max Payne, especially with his loud thinking/narrating and the little extras (like the TV shows instead of the Batboy comics).

A few complaints though: why are the controls so weird? Or is it because I'm using K+M? The camera positioning is pretty bad too, and especially annoying when a shadow guy creeps up unexpectedly behind you. I feel like poor old Alan is too stiff and slow, but then again this is part of the appeal since he is just an unfit writer in (and I quote) "a tweed jacket".

It's entertaining though, and well worth the price *I* set :p Kind of wished instead of so much repetitive and dull combat they had more puzzles and problem solving. More of an adventure than a third person shooter. But then again, this *was* an XBox game...

Alan Wake caught my eye, but I'm defiantly considering Hotline Miami.

Do I just suck or is it normal to die and lose companions left and right in Baldur's Gate? I would have thought a heavily armored Cleric would hold his own better. I am still relativly low level but I desperatly long for the days when I can say, "Ha! A Gnoll!" instead of "O crap! A Gnoll! AAAHHHHH!!!" I am reluctant to recruit any other followers should I lead them to their untimely end.

Can't find the thread about Tom Gop's new game, Lords of the Fallen. There's a new art.

It's gonna be playable at E3. There's a lot of talk how skill, challenge & diffictulty will play crucial role in the game. And it will have a pre-defined character.

Woah. I didn't know of this game, but everything I am reading sounds awesome! I really, really hope it's not turn-based, isometric like Div OS, because that was a serious letdown for me. This game I would pre-order.

No, no. It's action RPG with focus on (rather difficult) combat. Tomasz Gop in recent interviews says, that you gonna need to learn the game mechanics, so you have to spent some time learning the game. You will have predetermined character which you can develop in different directions (warrior, rogue etc.). Our hero will have some kind of psychic powers, which will resemble in some way active skill from Borderlands II (it will make the fight easer, for a brief moment).

The game is heavily influenced (inspired by) by Dark Souls.

Very cool, thanks for clarifying. It sounds like a more story-centric game than Dark Souls, which I like.

Here's some info to read about the game in case anyone is interested: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/05/16/city-interactive-announces-lords-of-the-fallen.aspx

Well, Tomb Raider would have to go up there with the one of the best looking games ever created. And it runs magnificently. Kind of sick of the QTEs, but the fluidity of the platforming and just general combat is great. gripping story so far aswell. Really enjoying this game, definitely recommend it.

Honestly i think i'll buy anything from Square Enix even if it doesn't interest me, as their PC porting is unrivalled. The fact that they put the effort into the PC versions is enough to win over my loyalty.

Lol, c'mon- it's one snapshot of an entire game. You could take snapshots of TW2 from some POVs, and they would look generic too. You also think this because the medieval fantasy RPG genre is saturated like crazy, but I feel like it's mostly saturated with BS, so I wouldn't mind another game making an effort within this genre.

I recently bought Divine Divinity from the evil overlord of classic games (aka GoG).
It took me some time to get used to the game mechanics and the final part of the game was a bit boring and repetitious, but overall it was very entertaining. So of course GoG got me again, and I also bought Beyond Divinity... If Wasteland 2, Project Eternity and Torment ToN get delayed too long, I'll run out of classic RPGs.

Yeah, because you know, you can come up with something totally unpredictable and creative when you're dealing with fantasy setting.

Art direction won't be the core of the game, as it was mentioned the focus is going to be on learning the game's(mostly combat) mechanics and applying them. But there's also going to be a story and minor choice & consequences system too. And lots of bosses :D

Why would you say it's not possible? That art style is completely generic, go on deviantArt and that's what every game design student is doing. Devs rarely try to switch things up that are known to work and that's why we end up with stuff like this.

It doesn't mean the game itself will be 'generic', thankfully there's more to a game than just an art style.

Hey, remember that time Remedy developed Alan Wake for PC, but Microsoft demanded they drop it a couple of months before the release and make it an Xbox exclusive, their excuse being it's meant to be played from the couch? Oooh, good times.

oop, sorry for a bitter-sounding post, I promise I'm not. Nothing much going on my end, I'm a bit bored of gaming :(
