Well, why the hell not? TES has never been very strong story-wise, but the lore is incredibly rich and I can see it being a fun MMO. If they let me play as Thalmor (eagle symbol?), I'm in.

Ugh. No. But only because I'm not an MMO fan at all. The ghosts of other players in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are as close as I ever want to come to having someone else in my game.

Could be fun for someone who likes them, though. As Dona said, TES is already heavy on lore and light on narrative, so it's good starting material for an MMO. I'm skeptical about its chances of long-term viability, but I'm curious to see what sort of mechanics Zenimax Online has planned for it.

With all the grinding, repetitive level and quest design, lame NPC interaction and poor writing, TES are practically, pardon the oxymoron, single-player MMO's :p

Exactly.

"When you get a quest to kill ten things, that lets you be your class, and you know exactly what to do, which means that you can concentrate on the story, concentrate on the atmosphere, concentrate on chatting with your friends. You can really be in the world." - Dave Kosak (lead quest designer for WoW)

And while the quote has me in stitches, it's true for TES, I do enjoy the world itself and wouldn't mind doing mindless questing with someone else.

What I´m playing right now, well Witcher 2 no doubt. On my Steam account there is little over 150 games and I have only beated 2 of them. Portal 2 and Dear Esther.. Good game and a great visual audio book. My 360 game shelf has only few titles left. I have sold most of the "unplayeable" ones that I have beated once, no need for second run. Witcher 2 and Dark Souls are at this moment the only ones that I really adore, oh wait, there is Deadly Premonition also. Dragon´s Dogma is preordered and well, dunno, another Capcom game and I have almost lost the trust for their games (what they did to RE series grrr). Still, W2 shows that hope ain´t lost for this year..

Bought TERA yesterday and I'm enjoying it a lot:) I really like the combat system, which is different from other MMO's I've played.

Hey, thanks for posting. I'm not affected yet because I still need to buy the game, but I appreciate the update. Looks like PB has been pretty busy.

Considered getting Risen 2. Read this. Now I'm more likely to grow wings and carpet bomb their offices than to ever touch their game.

Stupid fuckers.

Yup. One more off the list.
But it was good to read all of those references to CDPR and TW2 in the comments :)

Anyone thinking on trying "Game of Thrones"...?

For what I've seen, the combat is kind of klunky, but still way better than in Risen2 -I know, thats not saying too much :p -. The graphics and character animation look dated (not a big deal for me) and the game seems to be somewhat on the unpolished side... But the story is great, very dark and unforgiving, with lots of twists and turns, very much in the spirit of the books, which I love.

I might get it instead of Risen 2, which was a big dissapointment how awful it is.

In US Origin it is $19.99. But yeah, I also payed premium for my pre-order last year. What a waste of perfectly good money. DA:O was pretty decent for modern standards... what a way to ruin a franchise.

So what are you playing right now?

I got Portal 2 on sale last week and finished it last night. Very entertaining, but still somewhat short. Most puzzles were just too easy.

Now I am playing Fallout. I plan on playing the Hub tonight!

I've a half play of AC revelaion in first playthrough on stand by. Actually Tw2 EE is fulling my time of gaming. Maybe in some weeks I'll return to Skyrim or to finish ACR... as far as I'm concerned, I'll wait that D3 and ME· has a really low price which make me think that buy them really worth it , ;)

Deus Ex 3? It was on sale for 5 USD or so a few weeks ago, on Steam. Too bad you missed on it then. I personally am not interested in that kind of games, so I passed.

This weekend I have been playing (apart from Fallout) a pretty cool indie adventure called "The Dream Machine". Everyone interested in adventures, good suspenseful writing, and excellent artistic visuals should give it a try. The game is made from cardboard and clay stop-animation.

Wichat, if you are into RPG's we have a list of classics you *have* to play :)

I think she meant Diablo 3. D3 is official shortening of it. For Deus Ex Human Revolution it's DX:HR. Also please remember that Human Revolution is not Deux Ex 3 because it's a prequel. Also THERE is no such thing as Deux Ex 2, so HR can't be DX3. If you think that DX2 exist then YOU ARE WRONG. ;)
