Do you have the boxed retail version, the GOG.com version, or the Steam version?

So you have a boxed copy? Which version, out of curiosity?

You can go here if you're a legitimate purchaser who wasn't supplied with a product key, so that shouldn't be a problem.

EDIT: And if this is a piracy thing, which I can't help but suspect based on how suspicious this whole thing is, *know* that the legit version is easier, better, and currently on sale for 40% off.

You pirated the game. Buy it and don't ask any questions here before you will buy it.

If you own any sort of legal distro, you'll have the S/N in your documents/manual for the game. If you don't - tough luck, you're on your own. Oh - and expect in-game bugs that devs left there on purpose for cracked games.
