Please help

So I purchased a brand spanking new laptop so I could play the witcher 2. I must say I am a bit dissapointed. I spent almost $2000 on a gaming laptop that is supposed to be top of the line. Im finding that the game runs ok, however, the cutscenes are choppier than holy hell. I am new to gaming on a PC so bare with me on my noobness when it comes to computer stuff. What I will do is give you what my laptop says it has.

MSI

CPU: Intel Core i7-2670QM
VGA: NVIDIA GTX 570M / 1.5GB GDDR5
HDD: 750GB 7200RPM
RAM: 8GB

What am I missing? I was told this was a state of the art gaming laptop? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What game version are you playing ? Also what settings are you using ? For settings i would start at medium and go from there .

I am playing the Enhanced PC version. Are my specs up to par? I was told it was the best gaming laptop I could buy at the time...

I should say that the opening cutsence is amazing and runs fine. To correct myself, I will say that its when I talk to someone it slows right down. Im just dissapointed it runs so slow when I talk to people.

What OS do you use? And did you install latest Nvidia drivers?

I think your processor (i7-2670QM) may have an integrated graphics chip that interferes with your dedicated video card, causing the game to either not fully utilize it or maybe even run entirely on the integrated chip.

Go to the BIOS and try turning "Intel HD Graphics" off.

Your laptop can run it well at High, so obviously there's something wrong, have you tried updating your OS and drivers?

Because this is a notebook, you cannot turn the integrated GPU off. The integrated GPU owns the interface to the screen. It acts as a pass-through when the high-performance GPU is in use. You probably have Optimus with a setup like that. Sometimes Optimus can't detect which GPU a game should use. If you have trouble with the game performing badly, you should go into the nVidia Control Panel, make a profile for The Witcher 2, and tell it to use the "high performance nVidia GPU".

Choppy cutscenes and dialogue suggest that you have "Cinematic DOF" enabled. This is messed up in EE and should be turned off, even at Ultra.
