It's a single-player game. literally use anything else.

God im so glad people like you weren't around during oblivion & Morrowind or yall would be nerfing the funniest abilities.

Did you even play those games? Both Oblivion and Morrowind have horrible combat, but they make up for their soulless combat system with other mechanics. You picked a horrible example.

"Buckle up for a serious challenge. Careful character development and clever use of items, game mechanics and the environment will be necessary to help V make it on the streets of night city"

This description is literally in the game and you're telling me I had the wrong expectations? You're not making any sense. Also you're being pretty bipolar here you were just arguing the opposite in other threads.

Then why is the forum full of posts about game being too hard? How enemies take 50 shots to kill etc?

Guess what, you're using the tools given to you to maximum effect. These people complaining aren't. What I've been arguing since launch day is that you can stack too much bonus % too easily from too many sources, that's not the same thing at all.

A legendary baseball bat that does almost 400dps? That's more than my Legendary/Iconic pink katana. And the bat has a higher chance of causing bleeding. PLUS it's like 35,000 eddies. That's ridiculous.
And I've seen an "epic" lead pipe that does over 300dps. Ridiculous.
I get that blunt weapons are non-lethal (Not that going non-lethal is really worth it aside from personal role-playing preferences. You don't get credit for taking out baddies unless you fully kill them.) But that's no reason to give them such ridiculously massive DPS and other stats.

Maxed body stat + bare fists = crits for 5k+
Meanwhile my pistol with zero perks can crit for 53k+. I'm all body and tech. :p

I'm not using them to maximum effect. Maximum effect is using a revolver for over 1.2 million damage. I can use the tools to 5% of their effect and still one shot enemies.

What this guy said. I can one shot enemies without any perks. Not sure why you think I'm metagaming the system.

First of all, that's not what metagaming is, like at all lol. Second, 50k isn't a oneshot in high-level areas.

How is this relevant to what I'm saying? I never even mentioned anything about levels.

Damn dude, I really stoped your dissent in this super intellectual and rationally charged argument. I humbly acknowledge my use of such totalitarian methods and simply retort by saying "lol go play cod"

Getting to this point is simple enough. Look for stuff with crit chance multipliers and wear mods with + crit chance on an item with 85%+ crit damage with headshot damage multipliers - Boom headshot. Works for limbs too. I prefer punching people though. Cuz momma said knock them out.
Also just put your gear focus on getting legendaries. They seem to bump certain things up as well, unless I'm misunderstanding the numbers i'm reading. Although in my game I've been focusing mainly on armor earlier on. Been occasionally fighting maxtac people since I was in my low 20s. I think with a sword It took 5-6 swings at 400 dps to kill them, but I was also hitting crits for 2k constantly. My focus on my character is tech + body stat so i can keep upgrading weapons and clothing. Also I focus on max crit chance possible. i think my revolver has 88-89% crit chance and +90% crit damage. add that + the 3.5x headshot modifier and it's just limb removal toy.

LOL don't remind me, I finished the game with the dildomaster 9000, there was something refreshing about bashing Smashers face in with a dildo rofl

Yeaahhhhh. Wow.
See now, that simply shouldn't be possible. That's entirely lore unfriendly. You don't mess with MaxTac .. OR Trauma Team for that matter. (Even MaxTac agents wouldn't voluntarily take on a Trauma Team unit)
You shouldn't be able to fight MaxTac with any success whatsoever unless you're a full body replacement cyberpsycho. I mean, MaxTac agents typically ARE ex-cyberpsychos themselves. It's utterly insane that a character that's not fully cyborged up can take them on without dying almost instantly. Again, ditto with Trauma Team. It's very very unwise to mess with MaxTac, but NO ONE messes with Trauma Team ... Not like they ever actually show up in the game outside of that one early mission.

And your character sheet there exemplifies that. 3996 armor? LOLWUT?! :O
Combat in this game isn't very accurate to combat in the PnP RPG. And that's what this game is supposed to be: A video game version of the PnP game. In many ways it IS that, but in combat it surely is not. Combat is SERIOUSLY deadly in CP2020, especially if you're using the Friday Night Firefight optional system. Both for the players and the NPCs.
Taking on MaxTac by yourself is insane. LOL ;) :p

My satori is critting people regularly for close to 200,000 damage at this point. It one shots every single thing in the game.

The problem isn't weapon damage, the problem is that the game does not scale at the same rate as the player.

Yup, couple that with a yellow Sandevistan and shit gets real. It is literally impossible to die, ever, to anything except a mine. There are too many sources of flat +% you can stack.

Isnt that the point? I mean don't we want to have fun? Didn't you put time and effort into a build and now you complain about it??????? It's sad how some just cant be happy that they built a character to wipe out enemies!

The problem isn't that the build works. The problem is that it goes way over the top way too easily. A heavy attack should oneshot minions, NOT bosses.

The game does need rebalancing. One example: Sasquatch. She's a boss. If you use weapons. She can heal it. But when you use a melee weapon, she's a joke. This shouldn't happen. This should only happen if I was fighting her in New Game +.
