Points of interest besides the questionmarks

I want to ask specifically for the prologue before I leave it.

Are the many places outside of question marks that have quests or similar situations? Should I explore the woods etc?

Does the same apply to the rest of the game and maps?

Also, the points of interests are revealed by default or you have to do something to get them?

I don't know if I found any, however, things like monster nest show up when you find them anyway, so I think once you run across something it does put a mark on the map, and I can't remember which were there before I started running around. I didn't use my horse either, I just ran directly everywhere I wanted to go, so I crisscrossed the heck out of that area and can't answer your question because I think the map fills in as you explore it.
