POLL: More expansions for the Witcher 3 or a new Witcher 4 game?

Let's say that the upcoming two expansions for The Witcher 3 are a resounding success.

Would you prefer that:

1) CDPR continued to make more expansion for the Witcher 3. They could focus on Ciri's backstory, or maybe Eskel's or Vesemir's backstory. New lands, new look. Maybe like that desert we saw in the later part of the main story.

2) CDPR focused their efforts on trying to steer the Witcher universe in a different direction. Make Witcher 4 with completely new characters and setting, sort the way that Mass Effect 4 seems to be going.

3) CDPR makes Witcher 4
and the canon ending is that Ciri lives and becomes a Witcher
. We focus on Ciri and make her into a sort of Lara Craft for the Witcher Universe. A tough adventurous woman for the modern age.

4) Don't bother. The Witcher saga is complete. Leave CDPR alone and let them focus on Cyberpunk.

Ehhh I'm fine with more paid expansions on TW3 BUT if they are burned out by the game then I'm ok with leaving things as they are I guess.
I don't want a TW4....first because is too soon and second because I don't want to play as Ciri. I think if they don't plan on doing additional expansions with Geralt or an Enhanced Edition of TW3 with improved gameplay (Iorveth and more Triss) then I'm fine with how things are.

I miss an option for:
Witcher 4 with Geralt.

No need to force cdpr into a whole new witcher already. They deserve a break and if in a few months, years they really want to continue with a different protagonist... why not. But right now I'm looking forward to cyberpunk and the expansion... nothing more :)

I'll go with 1). Witcher 3 has a beautiful open world and good gameplay. I don't see what a Witcher 4 could make significantly better. (without Geralt it would be rather worse)
There are still a lot of places I would like to see. Kovir, Zerrikania, more of Tir Na Lia, Nilfgaard capitol, Dol Blathana, Gors Velen, Cintra just to name a few.
I'm sure a rather small team could make this expansions (maybe one new region every 6 months) while the majority of CDP works in Cyberpunk 2077 and a new scifi/space-IP afterwards.

Sadly I doubt there will ever be a Witcher 4, the Witcher 3 ended Geralt's story (either with death or simply with him settling down for good, ex...), and all the choices of the Witcher 3 have such extreme consequences that it would almost be impossible to set a game in the world(s) left behind by this game. On top of that so many characters might be dead/alive meaning CDPROJEKTRED would need to accommodate a ridiculous amount of possibilities when writing the plot that the game would ultimately suffer for it. I think Ciri's journey might continue in some form (Cyberpunk Cameo for her and Avallac'h is almost a certainty, maybe she will be a romance option for a female protagonist - and judging by the trailer there might be) but also she could be a protagonist in a story set in a brand new world (King Arthur's realm)? But I think this is the last we're to see of this world as the main setting for a game.

my answer for the poll is more Expansions. The world of the Witcher is rich with possibility and interesting characters and I'd happily have more and more content for it. And having the content (like the two planned expansions) intended for mid game (not post game) means that the issues caused by the consequences of choices shouldn't effect the expansion's content too heavily.

There is no point in making more expansion as long as the main game is still lacking...

Maybe they should concentrate on Cyberpunk instead.

Planned expansions should be enough. As for new witcher game(after CP77); I wouldn't want a witcher game that takes place after Wild Hunt; the map became too uninteresting. Miss the good old days where kings were alive and kingdoms were standing. So either go back in time 30 years or so with a new predefined/PC character or keep Geralt's trilogy separate/ignored and start over from where books ended.

As for Ciri being protagonist, no thanks. Wouldn't be fun with this teleporting gameplay - all game long - can be justified if it'd be an action game like DMC/castlevania but still wouldn't be fun for me at least.

I don't think Witcher 4 would be a good idea, at least not in the next few years. The reason is pretty simple: spectacle creep. It's one of reasons why after a certain creative climax (usually the second or third game) most sequels are just getting worse and worse in the video games industry...

No reason not to do both since main production should have shifted to Cyberpunk. Give people that have nothing to do something to do.

AAAANNND....!

CDPR must be focused on avoid all mistakes appeared in TW3 and make the definitive RPG with CP77. Ther, if I'm not wrong, the maicn character sill can be created-costumized from the begining. So quests, dialogues and consequences ought be very, very, very coherents. Not an easy work, I guess.

They should use the full workforce for Cyberpunk after they've completed the two expansions for TW3.

Yeah, sorry didn't add that they could hire people to help do the expansions but that's the company's issue.

TW3 has a good amount of story to expand off and a shame if they don't use a certain amount of it. The games are non-canon after all.
A return to Stygga Castle, Brokilon Forest. ruins in Aretuza. even if they made the map size same as Kaer Morhen it should be enough.

No need to take place after Wild Hunt, there are many things from past, that could be used. There are many intresting things in books, that would made an awsome storyline.
And of course Geralt as main protagonist, but could add some other characters for few hours, like Yennefer, Triss
Just saying

Another definitive RPG? Well, if you are really unhappy with TW3 I doubt CP77 will turn out a masterpiece you want. Reminds me a situation with Pirnaha Bytes when people always waited for the next game to be their dream game. Another trilogy done - and they are still waiting.

TW3 is a great game, and with some work on EE and expansions CDPR can address our suggestions. I wouldn't want them just ditch TW3. Let them finish what they started, at least until EE, and then onto CP77.

I have no idea what TW4 can be about. I am still very much into TW3, so I simply do not bother. They will make it when they are ready, I guess.
