When I think about Ciri's face something like Scarlett Johansson's face comes to my mind. At least concerning her general looks and the physiognomy. Of course Ciri should look younger than Scarlett is now and Scarlett's eyes also aren't green enough but she has the right size of the eyes and this perfect look of an "everlasting girl" as described by Vysogota (the lips are also too big, Ciri's should be smaller).

And now just think how a really ugly scar on the left cheek would destroy that face. The effect would even bigger than if you take a woman that already has a more "wild" and warrior-like look (like the one in the trailer...). According to Vysogota Ciri almost looks innocent no matter what she had to suffer. Only her eyes, in her eyes you could really see her true nature and all the pain she had to suffer... ;)

I think Ciri looks great, almost as I imagined her.

I thinks she looks great. Really need to see her whole face too make a judgement though. I am pretty sure the scar will be there, and that they are just teasing by only showing half her face.

Ahem, but your drawing and the Ciri from the trailer look really differently.... ;)

Here's a point of criticism people have made about Ciri's design, throughout various topics - thought I'd put it here:

"Ciri's eyes should be greener/bigger/feel more like a unique character detail."

I kind of agree on that point.

To quote my friend @LordCrash:

What do you all think ?

the counter point i can come up with is that visigotas comments are simply subjective. he doesnt have a basis to say for sure that her face would remain young especially with everything that ciri's gone through. VVisigota misses his wife and daughter so he sees them on Ciri.

Of course it's only the description of one old man. But the general physiognomy of a face usually doesn't change that much in 5 years. At least not if a girl is already 15 or 16 years old. For a girl, physical puberty is in many cases already a thing of the past at the age of 16. So he might project some elements of his own daugther into Ciri but he's also a scientist dedicated to rational observing his surroundings. In Vysogotas description of Ciri she does have a lot of new wounds and scratches but that doesn't change her general looks. And wounds heal with the one exception of the big scar on the left cheek. You can see her pain in her eyes thought. But of course that's VERY hard to implement in a video game in which the implementation of realistic human eyes is one of the most complicated areas of the human body.

Maybe Vysogota put too much of his own daughter into Ciri but then again we don't have any better description of her face. ;)

Unfortunately the picture you posted looks like that of a robot rather than someone with emotive eyes.

It's not about her emotions, it's about physiognomy. About the proportions and look of her face. And you have no idea for what purpose or in which scenery this picture has been made so the discussion about Scarlett's emotions in the picture are pretty pointless.... ;)

The design for Ciri is okay.
I just don't like that hairstyle.... I think it looks awfull and doesn't suit her personality at all.
I would prefer mane for her.
I mean like in the concept art (or at least use a hood to cover that and give her a misterious touch):

Ciri's hair need some improvement. My first impression wasn't that impressed compared to Yenn.

Severely disappointed

I read some of the posts in this thread and couldn't believe that people are discussing things like Ciri's clothes or hairstyle, when her face (or what we see of it, anyway) looks like a carbon copy of Triss' one FFS! In fact, both Cirilla and Yennefer look like the white- / brown-haired (what's with Yenn's brown hair, anyway?) sisters of Triss. No differentiation in facial features or age - it's like they used Merigold's ready face model, tweaked it just that little and slapped it onto Ciri and Yennefer. Just look at the trailer scene where Triss and Yennefer stand beside Geralt - it's the same woman before and after a visit at the hair saloon!
I've always admired CD Projekt RED for portraying at least somewhat varied characters in the Witcher games and not shying away from the fat, old and ugly. I mean, have you ever seen a fat person in Mass Effect? But I've been quite disappointed here. I really hope the devs don't get into some kind of "every-woman-a-pornstar" routine - which Triss has already fallen victim to, as far as I am concerned. I also hope that they were in a rush to put our the trailer and are in fact still working on those faces. Or at least are going to remodel them the way they did with Geralt in the last game.

@Riterdando: How much have you seen from Ciris face and how long?
It sounds like you've seen something other than I have :-/

Imho we can't say anything about her face, we haven't really seen it.

i get what your saying about ciri but im going to reserve judgement untill i see her whole face. But Yennefer? She looks nothing like triss. I didn't know what to think at first about Ciri or Yenefer but they've started to grow on me and im sure they'll continue with slight moderations to make them perfect.

I totally agree.

The faces of Yennefer and Triss don't look alike at all.

And even though we've only seen half of Ciri's face, I can't see any major resemblance of Triss in it.
But feel free to explain your point @Riterdando , maybe there is something we all didn't see here~

@ Riterdando

Well he is kind of right about Triss falling victim to being viewed as a pornstar.
In my point of view it is kind of unfair to the character, I'm referring to that silly photoshoot, but I guess it brings more people in.
Not sure though.

He's right about that, no doubt.

The way Triss is portrayed in CDPR's interpretation of the Witcher, she's pretty much a sex symbol.
I don't think it's fair to the character, but at least she seems to have a reason for what she's doing.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but perhaps Triss has taken the role of a temptress trying to
manipulate Geralt for someone elses benefit~ (rose of remembrance, etc...)

Yah. I'd hate to see her in that role in TW3. She is Yennefer's friend, not adversary. And she cares about Geralt, maybe a little different than how Geralt cares for her, but she has shown that she can deal with it. Even though Sapkowski's something ends, something begins story is not canon, I can't see any other ending for Yennefer's and Triss' situation. I mean come on!

I don't like Triss too much and I'll be #TeamYennefer, but you're right, seems that she and Yen are friends again, and that's how it has to be.

Oh me too, there is simply no way I would choose Triss. Can't do that to the characters, for me it is really out of place.

Edit: We are really drifting off topic aren't we?

So back on topic: CIRI!
