When I heard that sound on TV, I was like what the heck is that song popular at Music TV's and then when I turn at TV. I saw new Survivor show starting and they put this song in trailers. Acun Ilıcalı is one of the richest person in Turkey, he owns a TV channel like around 100m $ by himself and actually he's a gamer also. Maybe he heard this song and suggest to do them or just a regular employee did this but I'm sure Acun Media and CD Projekt fix this misunderstanding.

Sometimes here in Hungary on various shows they use music from the Assassin's Creed series.. but of course no one ever checks if they are allowed or not. These things happen a lot.

I'm from Spain and it is the first time I hear this. I am not sure if it is true or not, but it reminds me when in some sites was written "you can play any abandonware rom you want if you remove it in less than 24 hours"

I was aware of it when the SGAE persecueted every small premises where the radio was turned on to distract customers and not pay for it. :(

Interesting. It kind of reminds me of Chuck Lorre's Vanity Card #277.

It's highly unlikely that CDPR can do anything about this, even if it is illegal in Turkey, which may or may not be the case, then it would still take a court case to have them stop using the song or to get a fine. Not really worth it.

That said. As a Youtuber I'm going to say this: Acun Media can go fuck itself. I was doing a Let's Play of XCOM: Enemy Within for which anyone who wants to do a LP has the right by 2k Games and I found myself with a content ID match from Acun Media...because in-game music was playing during the intro.

These guys have put content ID claims on YT for these kinds of vids for music they do not own. Please be careful CDPR.

I noticed it too. Éjjel-Nappal Budapest (worst show ever) used soundtrack from Mass Effect 3. I watched maybe one episode and I heard Leaving Earth 3 or 4 times.

Hi, Costin :)
Good point. I've also seen similar cases regarding royalty-free music being registered through Content ID by someone other than the composer. I've highlighted it back to Marcin.

We don't use Content ID. We are aware of the implications it brings along. We usually file the claims manually to avoid hurting the innocent YouTubers.

In this day and age i'd still bother to thank people for being reasonable, especially if the decision affected what I do in some way, even more so if I was profiting from it, don't you think? That would be cool.

This one does not affect me, nevertheless thank you Marcin for clearing that up, and to the REDs for making the decision.

In my opinion CDRed shouldn't dive into this copyright madness BS. This is only a song, this won't ever have any impact on the game sells and this will only make them bad press.

Unfortunately, because of the way Youtube and Content ID works, they probably have to do something. Otherwise, the infringer can register it themselves under Content ID, and after that nobody else would be able to use it. Crazy situation.

This may explain why...

And then there's this. Content ID. The solution to everything. Sigh.

Can't CDPR just force them to put a disclaimer, that the song is from TW3 OST? That would be a win-win situation. CDPR wouldn't have to deal with a lawsuit or bad press AND get a free promotion.

Don't worry too much about lawsuits, most things like this get solved much faster and simpler. Just let them deal with it.
And on that, I think it may be time to close the thread, as the main purpose was to let CDPR know about it.
