Possible glitch with places of power.
When first visiting a place of power you obtain a skill point.
If you save the game and reload this point remains available. If you are unfortunate enough to die soon after unsaved and return to a point prior to using the place of power it seems as if you are no longer able to obtain this skill point.
Don't know whether this carries over a restart, but it did appear to impact both the last automatic save and a manual save from immediately before using the place of power.
Might be related to the reported issue with Bestiary entries not subsequently showing if the player dies with new, but unsaved entries?
