Possible To Mod NG+ To Accept Any Save?

Just wondering if this is even possible. I would really like this to happen and would consider learning how to create it myself just to make it happen... I basically want NG+ mode, when you select a save, to accept any save regardless of where it is in the game.

Primarily, I want to be able to take a NG+ save and start NG+ mode all over again, which currently isn't allowed because it only accepts save files that have completed the original game (non-NG+).

The mod would essentially allow you to start NG+ mode with any save, even normal saves that have not completed the game or saves that have already started (or completed) NG+ mode.

I mainly want to know if this is even possible to do before I spend time trying to learn to mod.

So I can keep playing the game while keeping my gear and level progress. I'd like to explore new story choices and new play styles without losing my progress.

I always thought NG+ mode would be like Chrono Trigger's NG+. In that game you kept all of your experience (levels) and gear but started the game over. You could do it with any save and at any point once you had completed the game once. It was nice because if you wanted to get a specific item that only dropped once in the game you could play up to the point that you got that item and then start over again.

I would really enjoy being able to play the game continually with my same progress endlessly because I wouldn't get bored for a long time.
