Post your 1.06 patch bugs here

This thread is a continuation of the Post your 1.05 patch bugs which can be found HERE. Any bugs that are known to still exist with patch 1.06 will be re-listed here. If there is anything that is not a bug but you feel needs changing in some way just bold a heading SUGGESTIONS to make it easy to see.

DON'T FORGET!
In order to make bug tracking as easy as possible for the devs to follow should they look at such posts as this remember the following;

- Say what patch you started playing the game on, and if you continued with a pre 1.06 save or started a new game
- List bugs bullet type style, being as accurate as possible with any additional bug info.

So, we're off to the races again folks.

Updated from 1.04 to 1.05, best to my knowledge these bugs are still in 1.06 too.

1. Quests you are over leveled for (even main quests) only give you 5 experience points.

2. Large enemy NPCs getting stuck on terrain when you are fighting them.

3. Geralt can get "stuck" in parrying \ counter, unable to attack with a sword until a reload of a save. If Geralt is on a boat when its attacked and sinks Geralt can also be rendered unable to attack with the crossbow until a save \ reload.

4. There needs to be a 3-5 second countdown to fist fights as in about 70% of fights the AI gets a good 3-5 cheap shots in before the camera has fully transitioned, controls are also unresponsive during this time making it impossible to fight back.

5. Sometimes when getting up in a boat Geralt will be magically teleported to some super high position and thus be in free fall.

6. Amhyr - torriniatial card abilty card (x) doesn't seem to work (nilfgardian deck)

7. Juniors Casino quest - on first floor there is a merchant called "seamen" in the corner before playing second card opponent. When you own his shop he has nothing to sell.

8. "The Bastion" quest is bugged after burning the bones the quest remains in the secondary quest log.

9. Cannot find the key for the merchant in distress in Velen north of Hanged Man's tree. He keeps saying the key is somewhere nearby.

10. Not strictly a bug but so bad it may as well be, the god damn LOD distance issues.


SUGGESTIONS

- If you aren't going to properly fix the over leveled quests bug CDPR at least make normal enemies worth more XP.
- For the love of god, remove the retarded level requirement for weapons and armour.
- Increase carry weight
- Fix all of the horrendous straight line "box" geometry, and stop being so bloody lazy and at least use parallax mapping on surfaces that need it.
 
Why are quests under your lvl by far giving 5 xp a bug? I`m almost sure they did it on purpose some patches back and it`s very appreciated, since we level too much to enjoy most of the game in a single playthrough

This does not make any sense at all. This statement would only make sense if there was NG+ mode (which there is not), other than that it is completely nonsense. A far more elegant solution to this issue would've been to implement some sort of scaling instead of just punishing ppl who like to explore the world before doing the main storyline (it's advertised as being an open-world RPG after all and part of that experience is the feeling of character progression)

On topic: In some fist fights I still can't hit my opponent.

And of course I still have pronounced texture pop-ins from very short distances (running the game on what the game considers to be a high-end rig with everything set to ultra by default) but I suppose since there is the complete absence of comments from the devs (for more than 10 days, going by the sheer number of threads where ppl raise awareness of this issue I do not believe they are not aware of this.. if they weren't before) I obviously cannot hope it will ever be fixed.

At least I have not noticed a single red post where one of the devs wrote they were working on this issue so I have to presume that they are not. Instead we get amazing patches that fix bugs such as Geralt appearing wet after exiting the menu.

CDPR are already punishing the player for their exploration by;

- Persisting with the utterly retarded level requirement for weapons and armour
- Not giving the player the freedom to do things like change runes in the field to allow for more tactical, dynamic play
- Not making normal enemies worth more XP (how the hell are you supposed to level up come endgame when you have completed all quests \ tasks? You can't.)
- Its just plain broken to not reward the player with the same amount of XP, especially for main story quests, just because you are over leveled. Does that somehow degrade the significance in what you just done regards the main story? Oh hell absolutely no.

I'll hammer home just how stupid these limitations are with this point; Come endgame my Geralt was level 35 (despite the stupid XP fiasco, and yes its a fiasco) with all level 30\31 armour and weapons. Having done everything on my way to endgame I literally had nothing left to do but randomly pick some fights with guards, what did I find when I did? They are level 50+ even in White Orchard!!!! Needless to say no chance of surviving a wave of them. The XP reward system is broken, pure and simple. It can be fixed or at least far better balanced easily, but it does not look like CDPR are going to fix the broken crippled system, and that should infuriate anyone.

Exactly this too. Or to quote Angry Joe when something is seriously screwed up with a game, You done FUCKED IT UP! CDPR.

since 1.06 i have to underclock my GPU, otherwise it quickly heads to 80c and overheats and the witcher crashes to desktop. Its a brand new gtx 970 i bought specifically for this game, strangely underclocking the GPU my 40Mhz seems to fix the problem( with fans turned to 100%)
 
Still getting a lot of npc's popping in front of me even after i set a "low spawn" for them; (my biggest problem)
Getting some performance issues, like fps drops, stuttering and even crashes sometimes;
Sometimes npc's go through solid objects ex:A lady went through Vasemir's horse like a boss at the very beginning;
Sometimes horses go crazy and they end up getting stuck (still running);
Sometimes Geralt goes through objects;
Sometimes my medallion goes crazy on cutscenes;

-Music bug related to the Skellige
coronation
Upon loading a saved game after this moment, if you have the bug the music in that scene keeps playing, entering combat or Gwent does not change it and in Velen I experience no music at all. The only way to fix it that I've found was to complete a contract that had music triggered in one of the cutscenes.

is not a bug, but some the armor/sword requirements are way too high, wolf gear requires level 34 and ursine mastecrafted sword erquires level 42, i completed the game with level 33, so, its impossible to use those items!

Oh and yes the retarded skill gain exp system which brakes up the freedom in the game .... Like I said this game will be playable after at least year and a half maybe two ... like GTA 4 :) ehehhehe
 
My game was ok no issues what so ever until patch 1.06, behavior and issues started to show. its so heartbreaking, when you almost near the end of the game and these issues started. This big "hotfix" somehow screwed up the game on my pc. Hope the next patch fixes this.

-texture pop in
-character pop in
-NPC animation; anomalities.
-lower FPS; sunden drop of fps.
-general smoothness of the game is different.

I wish there is a way to rollback to 1.05

Troubleshooting i made but made no difference.
-reinstalled game
-updated drivers
-cleared machine cache.

Started with 1.04 and currently playing on 1.06.

Using Dimeritium Bomb while having Synergy skill active really messes up the stats. Deactivating and reactivating Synergy repeatedly will put the stats back to default. It's a known bug elsewhere, but doesn't seem to be mentioned here.

Because of this, I have to avoid using Dimeritium Bomb even when it's effective against the enemy I'm fighting.

First, I thought that deactivating and reactivating synergy is messing up my stats. Turns out, it's actually the one fixing it.
 
Pyres of Novigrad - recommended level 10
the following quest in chain: Novigrad Dreaming - recommended Level 7 - lol what?

Velen: Bald Mountain
- near the place of power game crashes every 2 min (no issues with other places even Novigrad), there are lots of places where the character gets stuck in the environment and dies while trying to climb the mountain to get past the locked gate.

Damn there certainly seems to be a lot of issues, I'll get around to updating the main post when I can in the mean time keep the bugs coming in, any I can verify or theres just no room for error with I will add to the main post.

In game AA is not working any more sine patch 1.06. I tired the game before installed patch 1.06 and it looked fine. Now since installing patch 1.06 for some reason AA in game just doesn't do anything anymore. :(
 
Bump so people don't miss the thread, lets try to keep all 1.06 confirmed related bugs in one place. It'll help get them fixed faster if the devs are looking at threads like this.

I'm not having that problem, I did start a new game though specifically to test 1.06.
 
This are my exact problems; before 1.04 the LOD was great .. now everything is POPing IN shadows, texture, particles, decals, benches, NPCs, Roof tops, the vegetation on the buildings and many more. Maybe even AA is not working properly, still the same on 1.06
