Not a must, but I still think it would be pretty neat if they included Geralt's face changing when he drinks potions. Like in the 52 trailer.

Fresh idea for potion)) I called it " Sky eye". As you know the TW3 will have big open world, maybe it will so beautiful as developers tells. And it will not bad if players will have possibility to see world with bird's-eye view)) " Sky eye" effect is next: Gerald can control birds in game, but when he do it he to be in trance and player control a bird for 5 min. Cood thing for place reconnaissance i think))

You probably don't but I play video games very differently than you. Everyone plays video games differently. I would love to be able to throw acid on NPC's to see their skin fall off of their bones.

Stuff that immerses me doesn't immerse you. Stuff that immerses you probably doesn't immerse me.

Stuff like flesh being disintegrated by acid gets you Adults Only and Refused Classification ratings, no sales, nobody gets any feeling of immersion. Any further repetition of such desires will get immersed in a bit bucket.

Wódka - Gives Geralt temporary invulnerability. Also buffs him with "warrior mood", giving him devastating attacks, but unfortunetly he also have 50% chance to miss. After effect ends, Geralt gains debuff, hangover. All his stats are reduced 50% until he rest.

I want the potion that he used when he killed the michelets(maybe thunderbolt), and Blizzard

Thunderbolt-Effects: Makes geralt quicker, highly increases blood pressure so he does more damage and dismemberment but takes more damage and has a higher chance of getting bleeding effect and has very high toxicity.(I'll leave the percentages to the devs)

Visual Effect: Geralt hyperventilates, screams in anger through battle and sweats

Blizzard- Effects: Makes the world seem slower while geralt remains at normal speed but makes geralt take much more damage, mid high toxicity

Visual effects: Exactly what happens in the 52 and a half trailer (And in the first book), he becomes very pale, and you can see his veins which turn black

Also it would be cool if Cat had these effects:

Effects: Makes pitch black areas as bright as the outdoors, makes you see enemies though walls(like TW2) and Highly boost the Witcher senses mode, mid toxicity

Visual effects: Makes Geralt's pupils dilate so it covers his entire iris

Gamma Bombs : Obtainable only by Kalkstein.

Effects : If thrown at an enemy ( any enemy ) it turns them into bigger, stronger, angrier and greener versions of their normal selves. Also, they are invulverable as long as you attack them. It's effects are permanent. :/

All joking aside, I have a question. Aren't witchers supposed to see in complete darkness as part of their heightened senses? If yes, what's the purpose of Cat potion? I am sure that they could hear if someone was behind a wall or a door.

The acid idea wasn't my kind of thing. But, if somewhere, there were nests of some really strong type of monsters, you could use poison to weaken them and return after few hours have passed. I'm talking about a "use extreme gaming skills or die" type of monsters. Kind of mini-boss fights.

Apart from that, if there are enviromental hazards implemented, there could be potions that protect from fire in case of enemy spells, or extreme cold for all those snowy areas and their icy seas.

He can see in darkness more than the normal human, but he still cannot see in complete darkness (If I remember correctly in the books he uses a torch to find the cockatrice in the underground cellars in toussant)

Cat makes his senses extremely acute, in the first story of the first book (when he is dealing with Adda), after taking it he can hear her coffin lid sliding open from very far away, and he can see everything with absolute clarity. Hope this explains

Cool... so that explains Geralt with the new torch gameplay.
That looked really cool btw, and someone was all mad that Geralt had a torch.
Well I hope they read this;)

Well, we know potions are broken up into two groups. Those that are used in combat, that have small effects with short duration. And mutagenic potions that are passive with permanent duration. For the in combat potions, I expect we'll get the usual "increase x for y amount of time". Where x is anything from vitality regen to critical strike to resistances.

However, I hope that mutagenic potions are more about utility and special attributes, instead of boring stat increases so that we're constantly swapping them based on a given situation. I think Cat and Black Blood would be good examples of that since they are things useful in specific circumstances.

Maybe in Australia, but videogames have done far worst without getting an AO rating. Just look at the stuff that new Mortal Kombat is doing. I'm not saying that type of violence is appropriate here, just that it wouldn't necessarily up the game's rating.

Ok please explain to me why you think it's bad? I DID NOT ASK FOR Geralt of Rivia to be customizable like that. All I asked is that it would be nice to see potions mutate the anatomy of NPC's like that like create a poison that does not let a NPC eat. Each time the NPC eats it throws up and dies after a few days. All in real time with animations.

Never said its bad
1. It was a comedy video
2. "lel" is a variation of lol which means laugh out loud
3. BS means Bethesda Softworks

Sorry for being so insistent but… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE POTIONS HAVE VISUAL EFFECTS ON GERALT! I'm talking pale as hell, black veins, dilated pupils, hyperventilation, the whole shebang!!

THIS. Seriously.

Aside from that point (which is a must have for me ! (I can only join @King Milhouse there: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE)) good idea for a thread, we really need some nice variety of potions with different effects.

Also, I hope toxicity will definitely have negative effects if too high, I mean I wanted this in TW2 already, unfortunately it wasn't in the game. (Also a must have)
