Yeah same error... ignored it, menus are gone... Downloading the back-up copy of the game from GOG - hopefully that'll work.

yup, same problem here. I just did a clean install 2 days ago, please don't tell me that i need to spend another 2h+ on re-installation and EE download

you can download the files of the predownloader manually from the above url. Try to download files 0 (.exe) and 1 (first bin) and see if it installs.

i think cdpr should have posted a sfv or something to check the files integrity

I got the same error. Another and possibly related Issue is the EE seems to have integrated patch 2.1, which gave people heaps of trouble, so much that I avoided it altogether. So guess what...after I installed the EE and try to launch, I get the same 2.1 error prompt and the game won't launch. That's 2.1 in action.

Maybe we should start comparing what versions of the game we are using. I have the UK retail and used the Pre_Downloader.exe from thewitcher.com.
