Maybe we should change the title to "Predicted witcher 3 systems specs? The best we have is still guesswork."

You're probably right.
R9 270X = rebranded 7870.
I'm doubting that a single 7870 has the muscle for the highest settings; but if it falls short, it will be on features like AA.

I'm sure it will run TW3 with thous specs. But if you mean run at max graphics then i'm not so sure. I'm planing on getting one more 7970 to crossfire but even then i'm still worried i won't be able to max out the game with PhysX off.

Well I guess It is on par with crysis 3,bf4 and other games that arive in 2014. It may be a bit more demanding than those but not so much ahead...My guess is that if u played crysis 3 on very high setting you are gonna enjoy witcher 3 in very good graphics as well, maybe not full but still .:)

I agree with you. For me BF4 works form 50-60 fps and Crysis 3 at 40-50 fps at Ultra with my one 7970. I know this guy that has 2x 7970 and he can max out Crysis 3 with 60 fps and that's good because i'm planing on getting another 7970. And as you said probably TW3 will be a bit more demanding than thous games. But if i get some settings down like Shadows, PhysX, SMAA, etc. The game still might look good and run well at 60fps.

If so i would be very impressed if they pulled that off. Just look at this the detail it's crazy. http://giant.gfycat.com/UnrealisticComplexGrunion.gif
Detail like that and in a open large space (open world) trends to make your PC work hard. But i would be very happy if it was at Crysis 3 requirements then i would be able to play it in all it's glory.

One thing i noticed with Crysis 3 and TW3 is that the face models of Crysis 3 are better. The example that you gave with that pic is a good one. But one thing we got to remember is that on this scene they are in a room, closed doors. And in TW3 it will be open world so it will demanding quit some.
Here's an example of the a face in TW3. http://i4.minus.com/i3odmLsiNRHkP.jpg
But look there in the distance there seems to be a market and you can see theirs a lot of people there. http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2013/06/The-Witcher-3-Novigrad.jpg

It's true that's the only open world game that i know that there's some areas that there's a lot of people on screen. Hitman Absolution had that but that was not open world. AC games are a good compression.

I just hope that the wind system is not PhysX based.

Very good point. I found no interview in wich they mention that. I wish they could tell us. If the wind system is PhysX based then i'm doomed because i use a AMD GPU and turning on PhysX always puts me down to 10 fps. I really want the wind to work i saw this GIF that shows Geralt running though a forest in a storm and it's just breathtaking how you can see the trees move violate by the wind. It made that forest really come to life. And in some games trees just look like lifeless 3D models. But i don't know if you agree with me or not but i don't think the wind based parts are going to use PhysX because that would take a lot out of the system. Normally when there's PhysX they implement it in not so many things at once because it's pretty demanding. And i heard in interviewer that all the grass and trees move by the wind and depending where you are it could be a very large area. But i'm sure they will use PhysX in the fur. Be it on clothes or animals.

I agree. Fur and clothes I think are confirmed to be using PhysX, I think they also mention that PhysX-based destructions are available...The wind system, is there any game out there that has a dynamic wind/weather system?

Watch Dogs didn't come out yet but they said in a panel that they have a wind system that's integrated with their engine. I think Watch Dogs will use PhysX but not for their wind system. You can see then talking about it at 32:40 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8vq07Ep8mA#t=1961
