I would like to actually see the 980 in action and see how much it'll cost before calling it disappointing and overpriced. Also I would definitely go for 980 instead of 780Ti if they perform about the same since I'll be playing the game @ 1440p and that extra memory would be a safer bet future wise. Why get an overpriced 980 ?
I'm gonna wait for 780 ti price drop, and sli two of them together. They are going to outperform the 980 big time, and sli also helps with physx.
The GeForce GTX 980 is expected to start at US $599, nearly the same price as the GeForce GTX 780 Ti. The GTX 970, on the other hand, will start at US $399, danger-close to cannibalizing the GTX 780.
If the difference is one or two shader modules for an additional $200, yeah, the price-performance will be all in favor of the 970.
I definitely agree on that, with the top GPU (like all top products) you're also paying for the exclusivity of the product because it's the "top one", very rarely a good deal.If the difference is one or two shader modules for an additional $200, yeah, the price-performance will be all in favor of the 970.
Well considering the 900 cards are looking like they won't be that much of a jump over the 700 cards, I'm sure a high end 700 card will be just fine.Hey guys,
Could you help me? I'm thinking about building a new PC for games, that will come next year. Like Witcher 3, Batman: Arkham Knight, and I was wondering if I should get GPU from the GTX 700 series, or wait for the new 900 cards to be released?
I was just wondering if the 700 cards would be able to handle the new games on very high settings.
With 780 TI (faster than 980) or 780 ? No problemHey guys,

In my vision you MUST wait for 900's to be released and a couple of months further, because you will have a better idea of 900's capabilities and a little drop in prices for the 700's. Really no point in speeding up the purchase. We are talking here but optimized drivers and in-game benchmarks are the only valuable things among any scores, anticipations and speculationsHey guys,

Yeah, I'm thinking about giving it a go. Usually all I see in forums concerning the topic is people from both "camps" go at each others throats, arguing or fighting about which brand is better. That's not very informative and productive. I've checked a few tests and as far as I can see both brands have their strengths and weaknesses.Well, ATI used to provide more bang for your buck. Not sure if that's still the case. I've been using AMD cards for a few years now and I'm quite happy with them. What I usually do is compare prices and tests and try to figure out what gives me good performance at a reasonable price and just go with that. I don't really care about brands.
And 32 extra ROPs.If the difference is one or two shader modules for an additional $200, yeah, the price-performance will be all in favor of the 970.
