PS4 Controller not working on PC

My PS4 controller works perfectly with Mortal Kombat X on my PC, I bought The Witcher 3 through GOG.com.

I thought The Witcher 3 was compatible with the PS4 controller on PC through plug and play, did I miss something?

Help appreciated, I want to play the game!

DS4 somehow not officially supported regarding to email tech support

Hey fellas,

i have some kind of bad news, i wrote an email to tech support:

"Heyho,

I have to know, if DS4 controller will be supported with Dinput which includes for me DS4 button promts.
On Twitter you told us that both ds4 and xboxone controller will be supported.
But i can\'t get my DS4 to be recognized by the witcher 3.
All other games with native ds4 support recognize it correctly.

Is this a bug or just a mistake on twitter that both will be supported.

Sony has yet to release official DualShock 4 drivers for Windows thus this controller is not officially supported by Windows, not to mention The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Only available drivers are ones made by fans. Even Windows recognizes it as the Xbox controller not as a Sony DualShock 4 controller.

So maybe he has no idea what he is talking about or he was told to respond like that!
Since other companies like ubisoft managed to get the DS4 properly working with windows, without any external windows driver. (AC:Unity)

I think that it simply has to have both DirectInput (Playstation Controllers) AND XInput (Xbox Controllers) routines to get both working without any special windows DS4 drives.

I still hope the Support Guy is mistaken and they will patch it to support both as promised!
