I installed the PS5 copy of Cyberpunk 2077, and I ended up re-initializing my PS5 (which was frustrating to say the least).
Here's what happened:
1. I deleted the PS4 copy of Cyberpunk 2077
2. I installed the PS5 copy of Cyberpunk 2077
3. I booted the PS5 copy of Cyberpunk 2077, goofed around for a few minutes, then realized there was an update in the tray, so I closed the game without saving (i.e., the last save was still from when I last played Cyberpunk one or two nights ago)
4. I installed the aforementioned update, and booted the game again. I played for maybe 30 minutes checking out the updates, then (successfully) saved and closed the game
5. About an hour later, I attempted to start the game BUT the PS5 said it could not download the save data, which I thought was weird
6. I tried to upload the save data mentioned in step 4, but I could not because it was corrupted
7. I tried to download the save data from PS+, but I could not because IT was corrupted (not sure what sense that makes because it was fine like 90 minutes ago)
8. I clicked "More Info" and the PS5 crashed, hard. All lights on the PS5 went out, so I gave it a few minutes and turned it back on. It booted itself into Safe Mode, and the only option I had was to re-initialize the PS5. It was frustrating to say the least.
It MAY have something to do with my System Software, which was the Beta 3.0 recently released by Sony (so I will contact both CDPR and Sony about this). I'm not going to be reinstalling 2077 until I get this situation understood by at least one party (I won't be reinstalling the Beta 3.0 either way - I may have just learned my lesson).
If anyone on the forum knows more than me (and if you so much as use a mouse then you probably do know more than me), please submit YOUR thoughts on this.
