So, the last RPG I can recall ever allowing you to purchase stocks in companies was Xenosaga. I did notice however in one of the videos a stock exchange. Now likely this is simply part of the Corporate background. However, I actually would like to invest in stocks or businesses, or even become a partial owner in your own shop.

As many would recall the Doctor asks you to not forget about him. Perhaps this alludes to an investment opportunity. A way to help him grow his business and/or expand his inventory.

No. Stock mini games never feel natural. And buying businesses makes income too easily too get ahold of.

V is a merc, not a business mogul or a stock broker. The money V makes should come from merc work and the peripherals of merc work.

I think it be cool to add, V isn't 100% a set character so I can see corpo V having interest.

I am not sure that Night City can HAVE a stock market, if for nothing else then because there basically is no internet. Another reason is that I dont think there are that many companies you could invest in. If there would be a stock market, it would be for corpos only Im sure.

Nevermind I am dumb.

Really not bothered about this, rather there was no options for buying stocks, businesses. Maybe the Corpo playthrough will have some sort of element, who knows... We will see November 19th and beyond.

I mean in corpo playthrough you can see stocks down on the right. They are corporations, corporations have stocks. That's how you evaluate if your company is doing good or bad on a raise or on a low.

Then there is also the stock guy from the postcards of night city. In the background you can see various stocks displayed.

" Your business is my business " was his quote. Perhaps you wont be able to get into the stock market. ( I never really bothered in GTA 5 ) however I am pretty sure they aren't completely absent from the game. But if they will be actually involved as a mechanic is somewhat doubtful for me

Yes. I just realized that I am stupid. We have clear video footage of stock charts being shown in that vidshow from the postcards trailer.

ps. I wonder what those skulls on top of a pile of eddies are representing..

pps.

Double meaning. I love it. Your business is my business - as in, I take over.

In the game I won't mind buying a store, restaurant, nightclub, casino, etc, In Witcher 3, Geralt does inherit a vineyard. So, I think they could do something similar if CDPR wants to. Also, V would get a steady stream of income instead of going broke and needing do a merc work to buy a cyberware.

? who wants to care about stocks in a video game. I play video games to habve fun, dude.
Yea I really don't want stocks in the game unless I can 100% avoid them and have no drawbacks.
The reasons I worry about this as a feature is that CDPR may think that players don't need to depend on other sources of income in the game as much since they have stocks, and what if they lower the amount of money the player can make from other non-stock market sources? But what if I don't ever want to play with stocks? Then all this has done is make it so that the game is a bigger grind since I will be making less money from all the things I DO want to do, since I'm never touching the stock market. I remember what the stock market felt like in GTA V.

I'm not comparing the two games in this case, I'm just saying that the stock market in that game was stressful (like in real life) and you never knew what to do or when to do it, (there were some secret hints, but not everyone figured it out) and often times DAYS DEEP in real life into a playthrough, you would realize that you have missed a MASSSSSIIIIIVE stock opportunity and therefor you wont get the money. This would cause tremendous harm to the point that the playthrough was essentially ruined and it might be better to just start all over. AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT! One of the biggest reasons I quit the game and never came back.

Honestly I don't mind if it's in the game, but I hope it's EXTREMELY unrealistic and just fun to use, and not punishing to the player at all. I still want to be able to make HUGE amounts of money in ways that don't involve the stock market. All the stock market in GTA ever did was constantly distract me from enjoying the game by making me worry CONSTANTLY. Fun = RUINED.

"None, I hate business!"
Can we get an option to just vote "none" without simultaneously saying we hate something lol...
I voted "other" but I really mean to vote "none" but I do think business is good.

In GTA the stockmarket felt like an idea that was never fully realized. I dont mind the concept, but its hard to tie playing the stockmarket into the rest of the game in a meaningful way.. They can do it I guess, for extra immersion. But I dont expect them to.

In GTA the idea was to manipulate the stock market via the ingame events, such as a company stock diving if their giant warehouse goes up in a fire etc. You had a hand in that by playing the game. (I cant remember exactly how it was accomplished, but this was the idea)

Indeed as Franklin you were doing some hits and stuff and you could purchase some stocks then go and burn something down or kill someone and basically you made money cause you invested into a rival company and stuff like that. But I agree that it wasnt a very big or even fun part of the game.
