Question about levels. My first witcher game.

So i'm 7 hours into the game and just been out exploring and going too all the question marks on the map and i'm currently on lvl 3 gryphon quest but i'm only lvl 2. It says min lvl 3 so i've been trying to get to 3 but is it normal to get such Low amounts of exp while playing the game or am i doing something wrong .

You get most of your EXP for completing main quest parts and contracts. Don't be afraid to complete some of the main quest, you'll have many places in the main quest where you can then just go off and do your own thing, always do a little bit, speak to the important people, do all the indoor stuff and when you're tasked with something big, go do sidequests for a while. You'll be fine.

I would stay away from the main quest for now.

Walk around, talk to everyone you can, do all the side quests, have you played cards with the dude in the pub? Have you won the card from the bartender? (I don't even know if the bartender has one lol). I would stay away from the griffyn until you have doine everytihng you can find.

I'm level 14 and I'd say everything from 12-18 is fine. I'm playing on Blood and Bones difficulty. If the quest is green you're fine. And yea, outside quests you get basically zero XP.
