Hard to say, and the game doesn't really go into it. So we get to speculate
Without Henselt, Dethmold seems to be in command. At least nobody will challenge him to his face. But he won't be able to hold on forever. The soldiers hate him, and he knows the first knight who knows how to take on a mage will curbstomp him, to much vulgar rejoicing.
So Dethmold has to have a way out. His ticket is Anais. Whoever gets custody of Anais is bound to be grateful in suitable measure. This person might not mind having a brilliant, amoral toady of a mage at court, or might at least be willing to give him a running start.
