Question regarding saving module

Question regarding saving module

When I try to save the module by picking "save module as", it says: "Save module: Cannot demand module resourceCould not save file "c:\documents and settings\all users\dokument\the witcher\test.adv"I'm guessing this might have to do with the folder path being wrong? But the annoying thing is I can't change the save location from the window that pops up when I pick "save as". How can I solve this?

I renamed some folders to match the save path the d'jinni tried to create. But now I get this message when I try to save, ('test' being the name I gave the area): "Could not create new GIT file for area test.Save module: Cannot demand module resource"And I've made a clean install of the game and 1.3 patch. Still doesn't work. Any ideas?

I know the save location for our team has been under Shared Documents/The Witcher. It should already have the m1_module.adv file in it from Price of Neutrality. Look for that file and ensure you are saving at the same location, otherwise it will not work.

Yes, it is the same locations as " m1.module.adv". I noticed now that when I try to edit area properties it says:"Cannot extract module IFO resource. Module was not properly loaded"And if I try open an area I get a bunch of these messages, for example:"Error! Door ID=25675 - template 'dr_09' missing, object not created..."And this is on a completly fresh install where I haven't changed anything. I tried redownloading the patch and editor as well. Another weird thing is, that when I try to save the module I can't browse further back in the 'windows window'. Can't type in the folder path manually either. I also can't browse further back than the data folder when I try to pick a new area to add to the module. Using windows xp with sp2 btw.

Areas in the windows dialog boxes are locked. Opening a module is locked in your shared documents. And you cannot get out of the Data folder while in Djinni for resources.

Ok, I guess that isn't part of the error then. However I still can't save or open areas properly. I wonder if it has something to do with the game being installed on a different partition?

I had the same problem. You have to put *.bif file to right locations in Data, for example textures01.bif to Textures.Sorry for my english, but i hope you understand this ;)

Tried doing so but it still doesn't work. However, there were some .bif files in the data folder that didn't have any coresponding folder, so I didn't know where to put it. Such as 2da00.bif, items00.bif, legacy00.bif, localized.bif, materials.bif, patch.bif, voices.bif etc.

I know that could be very troublesome, but files with different names (eg materials.bif or legacy00.bif) you can copy into every folder. I did this that way and now i can saving module, edit areas, and open areas properly. On the other hand lot of options still doesn't work, like waypoints, or fx. I tried to unpack *.key files, and put unpaked files into right directories, but this is very hard and i'm not sure that will fix something.

As long as the files are located in the Data folder, they are able to be used. The bif files themselves are already in the Data folder, so they are irrelevant. Djinni does not recognize any folders at all in the Data folder, merely the files and file types. Thus, you can have 3000 new folders added and it wouldn't make a difference beyond your own organization. However, you cannot have two of the same filename in the Data folder, anywhere, regardless if different folders or they will not work. That's the only limitation of the Data folder basically being the entire Override.Djinni, however, only allows certain portions of the bif files in compressed format to be used. You can see this by looking at weapons pre-uncompressed bifs, and then after. If you want every single piece of The Witcher, you need to uncompress the bifs (around 16gb) and then copy all the uncompressed files into the Data folder. It could be as simple as creating a new folder, and dumping everything there.

But they didn't. I don't create any folder, but use only that wich was created by djinni. I know that could sound stupid but now djinni working quite normal. Before that i couldn't even save my module.

Still having the same error as previously described in the thread. Before I completely give up on it, anyone have any ideas?
