Right. That was a rhetorical question. I very much get what you want, if you just spent a little bit of time reading the rest of my post, I believe you should be able to understand that. Whatever, I guess that would be too much to ask.

Just tell me, if I decide to go exploring not on level 1, but on level 25 and end up with tons and tons of gear for level 20 and below ('cause that's what's most enemies are, so that's what's most loot would be then), that's going to be really fun for me right? What am I supposed to do with all that useless crap I just found?

The game is designed in such a way as to prompt exploration not all at once, but in little bits during questing. Like you're doing the quest and are near a "?" so you go there and explore. Exploring everything at once is just not intended (and quite frankly boring and monotonous).

I am completely ok with finding underleveled loot sometimes, that's just realistic. Not everything can be awesome and badass. But the current implementation means that I will NEVER find something that is awesome or badass. Not once. Not ever. Really! Because it will always be at most my current level. BORING.

Furthermore, finding level 17 loot at level 25 is still better than having explored at level 10 and permanently having the level 17 equipment reduced to level 10. If for no other reason, then because the selling price will be worse (I guess, I haven't gotten that far yet).

And I completely disagree about your take on exploring. The way you think, the game wouldn't need to be open world at all, there would be no point. I want an open world game exactly because it allows me to go anywhere, anytime. That's part of the fun for me, just to see whats over the next hill.

Perhaps you are right and the griffin can be killed - I must admit that I have not even tried yet, because I was having so much trouble just fighting the noonwraith. My starting silver sword does not deal enough damage to overcome the health regen. So I figured the griffin would be impossible too.

Still, it doesn't really matter, it really kills the enjoyment of exploring if all loot is going to be crap.

I just want the devs to confirm if this is a hardcoded feature, then I can move on from this game and won't waste any more time on this. It should be a really simple question to answer.

The noonwraith is meant to be harder than the griffin. It has a level recommendation of 4, whereas for the griffin its 3. I just think you're whining because you want to boast about playing in the hardest difficulty when you clearly can't handle it. There's nothing wrong with it, just lower it.

And again i'll tell you, get the viper swords, don't use your starting weapons for longer than you need to.

Fair enough, but that doesn't change the fact that I still only have my lvl1 silver sword because of loot levelling. Without loot levelling I could have a lvl 4 sword now.

No I enjoy the challenge of death march. Some of the fights are really tough, but it's great to beat them. The point is not that the game is too hard on death march, the point is that it's not enjoyable to explore, because I have to worry about "destroying" high level equipment.

It doesn't matter to me that I can craft better equipment, I like to find cool stuff. That is what looting and discoovering hidden treasure is for. But the current system makes dead certain that I will never ever find cool stuff, it's impossible.

Where/how do I get the viper swords?

I'm also playing on Death March, a lot better than normal (i've tried normal at first, but then restarted with DM - normal is too easy and not satisfying) - remember that you can properly damage wraith only withing Yrden trap. Always read the bestiary before fighting monsters and prepare :) Lore friendly!

I can understand you. Im level 23 atm @ deathmarch and looted lots of secret chests and ?-locations and got lots of crappy underpowered items. But i never was ungrateful for that crap, i just sold it. But dont expect any top secret ultra weapons or armor, as far is i know there is nothing out there. I like to walk and horse around, and i want to enjoy and complete the game 100%, thats the only reason why im doing this.

Sometimes enemys really sucked me off at this difficulty, but i think in this situations the game wants to remind you, that there are several ways you just forgot. Think of potions and mutagens, at lower difficulties its not necessary to use them, you can just walk through with sword only. But on deathmarch you really have to use oils, mutagens and potions to get along AND having fun.

What i dont get is that lots of players are complaining about bugs, bad gameplay-mechanics, ... i dont say its okay that cdprojectred isnt going to hotfix the exp-bug or buggy schematics, which are real motivation-killers. Also crashes, freezes and so on are not good.

But: Accept it! Just accept the current situations completely without whining or complaining. Then you will get a better feeling and you can SEE, that you are able to do something about it! There are tons of workarounds, mods, tips which not only help you to prevent crashes, they also improve the whole gaming experience in a way that even a bugless vanilla witcher 3 wouldnt offer.

And to get back to the op: If you cant stand deathmarch yet, try potions, mutagens and oils, horse around to get all the power stones for skill points and also learn to dodge, counter and roll away. You are not the only one playing deathmarch, there are thousands of players which completed the game already even below v1.04. YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks Holzmichi, but I guess I wasn't clear enough yet.

It's not that I can't beat death march. I have killed both the noonwraith and the griffin in a previous playthrough.

The problem is that exploring is just not fun. It's a matter of enjoying the game, it's not about being too difficult. I could play on the easiest setting and I would still want loot to be unlevelled.

When I read about open world and unlevelled monsters I rushed to buy this game. I did not expect the loot to be levelled when everything else is not. That's a real letdown for me.

I too am playing on Death March, cleared all of White Orchard (Question marks, side quests) before going up against the Griffin. I was level 4 at that point and only took 2-3 tries to kill the Griffin. It's a tough fight but you don't need super high equipment to clear it. In fact I'm pretty sure I had the starting Silver Sword when I killed it. I don't think you can be complaining about the loot system when you haven't even left the prologue area yet.

I have left the prologue area in a previous playthrough. I decided to restart because I missed several things in White Orchard and wanted to do it properly. This way I discovered that all loot is levelled, and that killed my motivation to continue playing.

Yes I can beat the game, but it's not FUN. Please understand this part - it's about fun, and I don't enjoy the current loot system. It absolutely definitely is a deal-breaker for me.
