Questions about the physical edition

Okay, I have a few questions about the physical edition of the game, which I have pre-ordered:

• Since there's supposedly a very important day 1-patch, do I have to connect the game to GOG to play a fully functional version of the game?
• Can I install the game as soon as I get it and start playing, or do I have to wait for the game to be released on GOG?

1)Yes. you will have to connect to the internet to download the day1 patch,you don't need to install GOGALAXY to install the patch, just going to the GOG site activating the game through the "redeem" option and then download the patch is also an option.

2)When the Day 1 patch arrives, you will be able to run the game as soon as you can, the game launch is simultaneous on GOG and physical, no problems there

You must download a file to complete the installation. (Keep the file safe on a USB, along with patches and dlc/expansions, or burn it to DVD, store it on the cloud or just re-download it if you need to in the future)... This means you need to wait till the night of 18th/19th May.

There is also a day 1 patch with performance and bug-fix changes. This may be separate, but may be 'together' with the required file... for the PS4 it appears to be a <500MB patch, we haven't seen anything for PC or XB1 yet.
