Questions concerning W:AG

I was debating whether or not to purchase this game however, I wanted to ask a couple questions before I make my choice. Which device is better suited for this game? I don't like to play games on PC unless theyre too good not to or are exclusives. I own an Ipad and was wondering if others play it on it and what I can expect performance wise. Truth be told, closest to tabletop gaming ive played is "D&D" (Does Monopoly count? lol). How is this game for newcomers to tabletop gaming? Only wanted to purchase this game for more lore/artwork and more importantly, supporting a CD Projekt Red title. Is there any good lore/artwork/backstories/ect. to be found in this game? Anything else you guys want to throw at me for what I can expect and where I should play it would be appreciated!!!
