Radio Hosts Disopeared All Radio Stations

+
You realize Maximum Mike isn’t the only audio missing, and Morro Rock isn’t the only affected station, right?

See bit at the bottom of picture.

Also, fired up a fresh 2.13 playthrough and checked. I'm hearing Ash, Mike, and I've heard Stan on Body Heat. Who else is there? In any case, I'm not obligated to help. I've given everyone a working solution for free - take it or leave it.

Ash has never been a problem. In fact sometimes it seems like she won’t shut up. Mike, Stan, and Arif Iqbal are MIA for many since the post-2.0 updates. I’m happy you’re happy with your flowchart. Don’t take it personally that some of us wish the game worked as intended.

I posted that solution because I’ve been experiencing the exact same thing. And, like you, I also wish the game worked as intended. Why would you think otherwise, based on what I’ve said? Literally: “it’s a daft ritual” and “they should fix it”. Hell I made a thread elsewhere including reproducible bugs without solutions - clearly I want the game fixed. But at least THIS particular bug has a very simple solution.

”Happy with your flowchart“… Pal, I’m happy I found a workaround that works, and I’m happy to share it with the rest of you. You’re welcome?

As much as I would love for this game to be literal perfection, I can live with having to turn a radio on and off and on again every now and then.

To the argument that players "just fix it", in my opinion this and the TV sound bug are breaking one of the fundamental ways Cyberpunk delivered information and made players feel like part of the world. I haven't played since the update so haven't seen if the TV sound bug is fixed, but neither of them are isolated bugs experienced by a small scattering of users.

The problem, really, affects new players more than existing players. Cyberpunk immerses you in the world through its delivery of incidental information. If a new player isn't GETTING that information, whether through the TV or radio, a big part of what makes Cyberpunk special in terms of not hitting the player over the head with a hammer and going "hey, listen, this is why the world is like this" simply isn't happening.

These are the ways the game delivers a good chunk of its context. They make the world, as an experience, make sense.

They really ought to fix these issues.

The TV audio bug isn’t fixed either. But if you don’t mind modding your game, there’s a fix for it on Nexus mods that seems to work pretty well.

If that was aimed at me I didn’t say that players should “just fix it” (did anyone in this thread?). Again, I think CDPR should and… I think we’re all in agreement on that? And yes, pretty clear this isn’t a minority issue.

As for TV audio, nope, not fixed. Which is wild, because the error responsible is the tiniest thing. You can open the nexus mod that fixes it in Wolvenkit and play spot the difference. I‘m really surprised they didn’t fix it ages ago.

Agree with you about new players. They’ll likely not even realise the DJ’s are a thing, and even for those that do, they won’t know how to listen to them unless they stumble upon that Reddit post or this thread (and even then, they have to realise it’s a habit you have to do regularly throughout an entire playthrough).

Hmm, what version did you start your game on?

I know this may sound like a bad idea, but have you tried it with a new game? It usually helps.

There's that, but also what you said on the previous page about needing to give it time. Whether they try that mod or just do the thing I suggested - one really has to do a whole playthrough first before concluding either option isn't working for them.

Yes I think it's much more of an issue for new players, since they wouldn't even know it was meant to be there.

They should fix it but, c'mon, the workaround requires virtually zero effort. Made a diagram to make it even clearer:

How long does it usually take you to get Maximum Mike to appear using this method? I gave this a shot the other day to the point where I must of cycled through all of the songs on Morro Rock. Either way, I appreciate the help.

Has this mod actually helped anyone?

Looking at the comments, I really have doubts.

With that method, I think it's less to do with time and more to do with what you've done in the world. That's my feeling anyway. Doesn't make sense but that's how it looks to me.

E.g. in Act 1 shortly after rescuing Sandra Dorsett, I was able to get Max Mike and Stan on the radio once each. Then they vanished for ages. Then I completed Stadium Love, and now Max Mike is showing up about as easily as Ash.

I'm currently on a fresh 2.13 playthrough. Was similar on 2.12.

Well, since you seem to be getting more flak than thanks for providing a solution to a problem CDPR may never fix...

Let me say that I appreciate your help and it works.

It would be better if CDPR fixed it but in the meantime there is this

I can only speak for my personal experience - yes, it absolutely has.

All radio hosts, Mike included, play as intended.

It's a miracle. But how to explain that it doesn't work for some people?
I can’t help but wonder if they’re hearing the extended monologues, or just the stingers between songs.

It occurs to me that it’s possible not everyone participating in this discussion is familiar with the radio content prior to version 2.0 (beyond just the Magic Mike monologues available on YT). Maybe we’re not all talking about the same things.
