Random 1-2 Second Pauses

Hi,

I seem to be getting random pauses. Usually when casting a new spell or walking in to a new area. Sometimes they happen in combat which can be very annoying. Are these normal? It looks like the game is streaming assets analysing with process explorer. Is there a way to force it to use more RAM?

I can't remember these issues last time I played the game but it may have been pre extended edition.

Any tips on trying to reduce or eliminate them? Otherwise the game is running flawlessly for me.

Specs:
Intel Core i7 3820 @ 4.6GHz
Asus P9X79 Pro Motherboard
16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz
2 x Geforce 670 4GB SLI @ 1200Mhz boost clock
Windows 8 installed on SSD (game on mechanical HDD)

Running all ultra settings apart from über sampling off at 1440p

Having low free space in the primary partition (usually C) and the game installation partition could cause problems like this. also check that no background program like antivirus runs during your play.

Increasing system's virtual memory might also help. here's the address:
control panel > system > advanced system settings > advanced tab > performance box > settings > advanced tab > change

Thanks for the suggestion.

I seem to have cured it. I'm not sure which of the following did it but I made these changes since the last run.

- Changed page file min and max to 2048 (it was on windows managed and using 16gb)
- Moved the game installation folder to an SSD
- Installed the latest nvidia beta drivers
- Changed my headset sound options from 7.1 to 5.1

I suspect the first two options are the most likely to have fixed it.
