Random Frequent Crashes - Windows 7

So I've been playing The Witcher for about five days now and it has been hell. If it wasn't such a good game I would have just thrown it out three days ago but it is a really good game. It is also unfortunately one of the most unstable games I have ever played. The game crashes at completely random intervals for no apparent reason at all. I get a dropped to windows and Windows (7) says that the program has stopped working properly then it notifies me it doesn't have a solution and all I can do is click "Close Program".Since this problem has started I have tried so many things I can't even list them all. I've completely reinstalled the game twice now. I've done tweaks to Windows. I've altered game settings in every way possible. I've updated every single driver that my computer uses and I've done other things that I don't even remember.Right now I basically want to just ask anyone and everyone to post suggestions or links to suggestions people have posted in other threads. If you have questions, please ask and I'll reply promptly.(I play a lot of games on this machine and I have never had a single crash with any of them. Some of the games that I play are: Command & Conquer Red: Alert 3Command & Conquer 3, Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, Command & Conquer 4, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Age of Empires 3, Call of Duty 5: World at War, Demigod, Fable, Fallout 3, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II, Sim City 4, The Sims 3, Sins of a Solar Empire, and many others.)

I have the same problem. And I can't find a way to fix that either.

Some advice in order to reduce the amount of crashes:1. Don't overwrite a save file more than 2 times.2. Turn of the autosave feature if you notice map corruption in game and a crash just after that.3. If you've been playing the game for a while in single session or already saved four-five times or more don't even overwrite your saves. Sometimes it crashes a few seconds later than overwrting a save file when you've played it for a while. After that you can't load that save you've overwritten since it's become corrupted. If you think load times are very long try moving your old saves to another place or just delete them if you don't think you'll need them later. Saves can be found in my documents/the witcher. It may also prevent some crashes but I'm not sure about that.

BTW, I haven't read your logs. Just giving regular advice.

I had found that post and thought that that could be. However after several tests this is what happened:I started the game, disabled autosave, and did not save at all... crash after about 45 minutes without saving at all during that session.Started the game again and played for about 30 minutes and it crashed without saving at all in that sessionRestarted my computer, deleted all of my save games except the most recent one, started fresh and it crashed about 30 minutes later even tho there were no saves done. So I am fairly certain it is not that.

This sounds very similar to the problem I was having. I can't help you other than to say that I feel your pain.
