A gameplay trailer.http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-combat-the-witcher/713171I hate to say it, but there seems to be an endless parade of list inventories, and they look positively gargantuan, about as much fun as scrolling through an online encyclopedia. Looks like we'll be spending lots of time in the inventory screen.

Thanks for the post! And, umm...I like the way the new inventory looks: lots of detail about how things work in the gameworld and lots of customization without getting too lost. It doesn't look like much of a departure from TW1, really. The inventory/alchemy screens are more distinct from one another, and the icons are bigger.

Yes. I was just joking. It's so obvious when you look at the two games.Dragon Age 2 is generally held as the worst RPG Bioware has ever made, and all points indicate that The Witcher 2 is going to be something very, very special and breathe new air to the genre of story based WRPGs. It's most likely going to set a new standard that Bioware and other devs will have hard time exceeding for a long while. So you don't have to be Alan Turing to figure out that Witcher 2 is vastly superior to Dragon Age 2.

Yeah, DA II is out of competition now. I wonder which game will be RPG of the year, Skyrim, ME 3 or TW 2

Sadly I think that TW2 is out aswell, it could be the best of the group (frankly I believe and hope it will be) but the idiotic press won't bother giving a "indie" dev the title given the big interests that lie behind these contests... also considering in particular that last year title went to ME2 that, despite being a good game, isn't what I would consider an RPG rather an action title; my 2 cents :)

The reviewers gave Minecraft enough attention and praise though. Let's see.

CD red isn't an indie dev. They just seem to have virtually no restrictions placed on them by their parent company, which is rare. But make no mistake, an indie dev couldn't afford the kind of production values TW2 has. Consider Rocksteady, the dev that made Arkham Asylum. I think their team was around 70 - 80 people. Not really that big. But they had Warner Bros. backing them up. It seems like a similar situation to me.

That's why I put the quotes on indie :) and TW2 can have all the backup it wants but won't be able to rival with the likes of Bethesda or Bioware sadly... my main point is that most of those contests are ruled by economics and interests rather than actual game quality most of the time.@draconis: Minecraft has also a broader user base than most of the RPGs around; it has somehow become a trend and its simple mechanics do succed in attracting casual gamers giving the game a wider echo :)

Wait.. What? They won't be able to rival with them? Are you sure these are your words? Are you ok?

Hehe. I have to agree here. As far as games go, CD Projekt doesn't only rival, but it outclasses. In terms of sheer monetary gain, perhaps they're not rivals, but they don't have to be. Small companies throwing out excellent games every few years can make a tidy living for themselves provided they play their marketing correctly and develop a reputation for quality.

FACEPALM please re-read, I think that CDPR IS FAR BETTER THAN THE OTHER ONES I mentioned but the other devs have much more weight and are much better known in the market... so, given that "game of the year" like contests are ruled by economics and interests rather than actual quality, most of the time, I find it hard for TW2 to win "RPG of the year" despite probably being the most worthy of the lot

I know and its sad:( (just look at the reviews for DA2 for proof) But too me I am pretty sure it will be the best game of the year no matter what. And I hope they get the sales to prove it. I am telling everyone I know about the game:)

I haven't noticed the sarcasm involved. So hard to get if it's a personal opinion, LOL! Wish we had emoticons to actually express that kind of talk.
