I played "Deception" last night, and I'm really impressed with the art. Whoever did the loading screens did a great job -- the screens are clearly new, but they're similar to the ones that CDPR made, so it's still Witcher style. The person who did Geralt's English voice sounds a bit like Doug C o c k l e* and has a delivery somewhat similar to his, which made him seem like a "real" Geralt. There were a lot of places where there was dialogue with inconsistent voiceovers -- there'd be voice for line 1, then no voice for line 2, then voice again for line 3, which was somewhat disconcerting. I also found that Geralt knows an awful lot of things that he's never been told. He has a brief conversation with Gaston, during which Gaston doesn't tell him much, then there's all kinds of information in Geralt's journal, information that he claims Gaston told him, but um, I was there, and Gaston never said those things. It feels as if there's a missing conversation or two in there.
I was somewhat confused as to why Gaston and Katrina had separate houses. The dialogue implied that they lived together, but they have separate houses. At the end of the module,
Thanks for making something new for the community to enjoy! My including bug reports doesn't mean that I'm ungrateful.*The stupid censor thinks his name is a bad word if I spell it with all the letters together. *rolls eyes*
I liked having the monster in the basement of the house adjoining Katrina's -- it seems like such an obvious culprit, but of course it's not.
it seemed as if Geralt figured things out without much evidence. It's nice of Gaston and Amelie to go ahead and kill themselves, so that we don't have to prove that they're guilty, because it's not clear that we could have proved it. It seemed likely that they did it, but proof is another matter.
