REDMod unable to compile scripts

+
Hello! I recently have run into a problem where cyberpunk REDMod simply won't deploy. I contacted support, and they said they can't help (for something they made themselves..?). Either way, i have tried everything from repairing files, to fresh reintsalls of the game and mods, and tried it even on a different windows installation. Same issue. It happened after i disabled all my mods to get past a cutscene that kept crashing, and now that im in the open nocturn mission it simply does not deploy.

REDMod is unable to compile scripts, or deploy any mod my mods...

Here is the error part of the logs

Example mod not deplopying (there's a ton of these)
Found mod "Quickhack Loadouts" (v1.4.1+V2077RED) in folder "Quickhack Loadouts" (enabled; not deployed; )

Where error occurs
[DEPLOY] Stage 2/5 - Script Compilation
default control path does not return a value: cyberpunk\UI\mappins\minimapMappins.script:618
Unknown opcode: SyntaxFloatConst
Unknown opcode: SyntaxArrayPopBack

[DEPLOY] Stage 3/5 - TweakDB Compilation

I tried using Vortex, MO2, and manual installation. Nothing works.
I have tried everything from reinstalling the game, to using a different operating system, specifically Windows 10. (My PC uses Win 11 Pro).

I posted this on reddit, and well nobody helped. This is my last shot, anyone know what's up? IM thinking atp its my mod list, i might try a fresh install with a couple mods and see if it works.

P.S. as my account is new i cannot create an actual thread for this in the technical issues tab. If a mod could turn this into a post that would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

If it's an issue caused by a mod (and I assume it's the case), the support can't help. Yes, Redmod is added by CDPR, but not the mods you're using :)
You should try to perform a clean install of the game to be sure there is no remaining mod data in the game files. Then add few popular mods and check if everything work as intended (start a new game, because if you try to load an old modded save, you will likely encounter issues or even crashes)

Hello!

So i have tried exactly what you told me to do, and unfortunately REDMod still is giving me the same issue.

I wiped all my saves, reinstalled the game, launched w/o mods fine. But when i mod the game, via REDMod, REDMod does not deploy any of the mods, in this case i installed one REDmod based addition. I still get the same opcode & minimappins errors.

Any idea of what's wrong? As listed in the post previously i have tried everything from reinstalling the game, to trying it on a whole different operating system.

Two considerations:

1.) Are you using the latest version of the game and mod kit? Or, for example, are you trying to mod an earlier version of the game using the most recent version of the modding software?

2.) If your installation path for any of the software falls anywhere under Program Files or Program Files(x86), try moving the installation to the root of that drive or a to a folder of your own creation on the root. Example:
C:\Cyberpunk2077\mods\...
or
C:\MyRPGgames\Cyberpunk2077\mods\...

I am currently using the latest version of the game, and modding software (2.31)

The game is in my D drive (D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\mods\...)

Currently i have reinstalled all my mods w/o the auto convert .archive to REDMod, temporarily fixing it. Yet I would still like to see if its possible to fix.

Edit:

I posted this same thing to Vortex, and I got a reply telling me that the Vortex manual mod deployments are jank. Told me to disable and re-enable my REDMods. This worked interestingly enough so from what i can see, Vortex itself was the cause.

Okay, I'm finally going to go here:

Try uninstalling the following Windows Updates:
KB5074109 (Jan 13)
KB5077181 (Feb 10)

Then pause Windows Updates so that they don't reinstall.

If you want to be super-aggressive, try uninstalling all Windows Updates back to December of last year.

Reasoning:
These updates have introduced new security protocols for all software and hardware running on Windows systems. I've seen all ranges of complaints from programs refusing to launch, to crashing, to full system hangs, to "No Bootable Media" warnings when restarting. None of it is conclusive, but there's waaay too much of it to be coincidental.

The major issue is that each system may react differently once the expired certifications are triggered. And, this affects software, drivers, and firmware, so some situations can effectively brick systems, though that appears extremely rare (mostly people using BitLocker protection that never backed up their keys.)

I don't really see any reason for the mod files (if they are properly compiled) to not launch correctly if using the latest versions of everything, and if nothing is in a protected directory. If, however, the new security protocols are somehow blocking the file type, directory, or some part of the game executable because of the whole "security certificate expired" thing...

Might be worth trying. (You can always just reinstall the Windows Updates if it doesn't matter.) Just know, when doing something like this, there's always a chance that something else may break. It's not likely to be a big issue, but still -- at the user's own risk.
