regarding equipment carry over?

Anyone know an answer to this? One of the things that bothered me to no end in DA:Awakenings when you carried over from DA:O was you were basically nakid. All the equipment and items stored were lost and you have to look for new equipment and what not!Same with ME->ME2 (though they at least explained that one better)So now I have 3 named swords (2 normal steel and 1 silver) plus Ravens armor and a INN Inventory filled with Alcemy items and potion bases, will all this stuff be lost at the start of The Witcher 2 or will I have access to it?Its not a game breaker either way but I just would like to have the goods I worked for if im carrying a saved game file over is all.Or at least the armor and weapons anyways, if not all the other stuff.

We don't yet know for sure, but the one thing they've mentioned carrying over is your CHOICES. I think that weapons and armor probably won't carry over, since they're creating a new crafting system for this game, so the weapons and armor will probably all be different, but that's just speculation. The sense I get from what they've said (which could be wrong) is that The Witcher 2 will be new enough and different enough from TW1 that the only thing that makes sense to carry over will be the decisions you've made. Certainly they're using an entirely new game engine. They could work around that, of course, but The Witcher is a story-heavy game that puts far less emphasis on stuff than most RPG's do, so it'd make sense for them to carry over only the story elements. It strikes me that this would be a good question to ask in the Ask the Dev Team thread.[Note to moderators: The "Ask the Dev Team" thread should probably be moved to the Witcher 2 section.]

I read somewhere Orens will carry over. Which makes sense. I was up to 7000 at the end of the game with nothing to buy. :(

How will they carry over your choices? Shani over Triss, killing this guy or that, saving the soul of the Order's master. Important stuff but how do you do it?

I think I read in an interview that some equipment will carry over, don't remember where though :| I guess they'll let you import plot relevant stuff like the Aerondight and Raven's armor.

I'm not sure which method they'll be using, but basically the way they carry over choices is by importing your saves from TW1 to the TW2

Our choices are saved in save (right :p) from the end of the game, so it's quite easy :)=========================Okay, the new, improved FAQ is ready!Read it, enjoy it! http://tw2.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=28407edit: all ready now

the producer say that s the swords carry over but o think it s anormal because at the end of the tw1 if you finish the quest you have the silver sword ( 100 % domage more to monster) and normal sword( (100 % Domage more to human), after the raven armor that i think it s normal to have if you finish the quest because its long quest ect ect ( they say the same you have it if you finish the quest), the oren i dont knwo if you have it

In the newest gameplay video(the one from the dungeon) Geralt is completely naked without neither sword nor armor, and of course no money. So here is the answer how the equipment carry-over won't disbalance the game-it will be present only in the prologue.

You don't know that he wont get his stuff back. I've been thrown into the dungeon in other games and sometimes it's possible to get your stuff back. People would probably be upset if they got a rune sword or something right before getting tossed in the dungeon only to immediately lose it, after all. Also, what if there is Inn storage like in the first, you could put one or more of your fancy swords in there before getting captured. You also don't know WHEN in the game that dungeon scene was. People seem to be assuming it's the beginning for some reason, but from dialogue during the escape it's pretty clear Geralt has already done a fair bit of stuff before getting tossed in there, the guards mention some fight, he's dueled that one guy and either killed him or let him live, etc. it's probably closer to the middle of the game. The beginning, as stated by the devs, was that scene where Triss cast that shield that weakened her and you had to fight elves.
