If the sexual encounters were missing, I think this game would not had this feeling of entering the world of the witcher, as his romantic endeavours are a certain pert of the books (at least in the frist three, haven#t read farther). Geralt is a bit of a cassanova type, and this is a responsible for the sympathy this character creates in the reader. Okay, people, who haven't read the stories yet might not miss them, but if they later start to read the stories and novels, they would certainly say that something is missing in the game. The actual "act" is not shown (sometimes you have cutscenes during it, which are mostly funny), and the conversations that lead to them are nice interactions with the game environment (take Morenn or the female in the Temple quarter for example). Another point for the romantic encounters is that it adds diversity to the game. If you only had quest that revolve around killing certains monsters, the game become boring at one point, because all you do is basically the same. In the game, as it is, you have the fight-quest, you have investigation-quests, you have some riddles (could be more), you have fistfight, poker, the "romantic conquests", some fun with (some) drinking (the scene with Zoltan and Dandelion after chosing between Shani and Triss is great), in a few words, a colourfull mixture, which keeps the gaming going from one aspect to others and keeps you interested. It is just a more complete world this way.
