Regarding the elite crossbow dlc, why are they so terrible?

Just installed the newly released dlcs nilfgaard armor set is downright beautiful,yet the stats of the "elite" crossbows are so bad that I wonder if it's a bug or a design oversight,since they are worse than those that i pick up off the road! Take the nilfgaard crossbow for example, it does less damage than my level 1 crossbow,how is that even possible? No one in their right minds would abandon the relic or green set crossbows for them

Does the damage of the crossbow really matter? Do you use your crossbow in actual combat, I mean as your main damage dealing weapon? Personally I only ever use crossbow for knocking annoying enemies out of the sky or one shoting enemies underwater. To my knowledge the damage of the crossbow has no effect on either of the uses I mentioned, so yeah I for one would probably drop some relic crossbow for a dlc crossbow if it was just that good looking.

i mean they should at least have competitive stats , like the temerian&nilfgaard armor set , instead a level 7 "elite" crossbow only does 5-7 damage which is less than my level 1 crossbow would do ,i can't fathom the reason.

cat or bear school crossbow with explosive bolts can be great for crowd control and do noticeable damage,potentially feature a interesting play style, and it's super easy to come up with some decent stats , instead they choose to give them the worst stats possible.

Cool I haven't used explosive bolts yet, must admit I sometimes use the crossbow in combat, thinking I have a bomb equipped and forgetting I went swimming earlier and every time this happens I get my face clawed off because of the loading animation.
Anyways will try it out later, maybe use crossbow for more than underwater sections.

Fairly sure level 1 crossbow deals 4-6 or even 3-5 damage

pretty good as level 10 gears go, i think the armor value scales with your level, more importantly the horse armor looks magnificent

cool! although I'm sure the stats are not as good as +65 stamina cavalry saddle and Zerrikanian horse blinders and saddle bags.

It also scales up to level 37 when/if you get there. It's just unfortunate I can't use it where I am now, at level 24.
