Hi everybody, I have bought a pack of The Witcher at Walmart. I already installed it, everything looks fine. The only problem is when I type a registration key which from the first page of the manual, it always notices invalid. This is sealed CDs, I really don't know what to do now and want to play the game deadly, please give me some advices

Are you including RED as the first 3 digits you may also want to try lower case letters

uhm when i use the key i often don't see the the difference between I (letter i ) and 1 (one, number)and get it wrong you can have a look at it extra carefully.

Finally, thanks for help, I have installed the game but I have another problem, when I launched it, the error occured. It said: Insufficient privileges and something else about administrator. Well, it seems not a good day to start the game, please help, I'm eager to play this game immediately!

Are you using Windows 7? The Witcher came out before Windows 7 did, so the game doesn't support Windows 7 right out of the box. BUT there's a patch that does. You need to download and install the 1.5 patch, remove TAGES, then try to start the game.The FAQ explains this in more detail.The 1.5 patch is here. (Notice that the patch version number and the game version number are not the same. PATCH 1.5 produces GAME VERSION number 1.4.5.1304.Information about removing TAGES is here.

Am I reading this here right you said that it "Don't support Windows 7"?!?! Heck than I'm in trouble as I'm running it right now under Windows 7 64bit professional with 12 gigs of ram using a 47 LG HDTV for the monitor and it's playing beautifully; except for a few bugs which I've learned to save often because of them. Just down load and install the latest patch thats available and you should be fine. Thats all for which I had to do. I believe it's 1.7 or something close to that. All you need to do is when you click on the Icon to open the game menu go down to where it says to check for updates click on it and all it to install. You might have to do a re-boot I don't remember but re-boot the game load it and have fun.

I said it doesn't support Windows 7 RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX; you need the patch.

Just down load and install the latest patch thats available and you should be fine.

Right click the witcher and choose Run as Administrator

Wait, am I the only one, who installed the game on 7 and ran it right away without any problems?Does this problem exist only for the retail version? (I have the Steam one.)

The steam version does come already patched to the 1.5 version so yeah you did alright there !

Оh, the 1.5 patch.I didn't know the 1.5 patch fixed that problem, I thought there was a separate one or something.Thanks for telling me.
