Take your time. But what about something to bridge the wait?

Very sad to read, but I think it is better to wait and get some perfect made experience than hurry and rollout a short cartful of horrible bugs that destroys the witcher universes - and CDProjects - great reputation whithin a week! I still remember the horrible Gothic tragedy...
...BUT...!!!
... What about some bigger MOD / extra chapter for TW2EE to keep the waiting people happy? (the little fanmade mods are only some ballancing things or texture tunings, nothing with a real story!
The TW2EE system is working, bugs are fixed, all you need is a story and a small team which builds it along the TW3 long term project. What about it, CD Project?

That's because they are underpowered....anyway

Let's not forget that despite the hardware The Witcher 2 was heralded as an amazing looking game even on the 360 and that was PowerPC architecture.

This time all 3 platforms are on the same architecture(x86) which makes things easier. Even if they will have to scale down a few things, I have little doubt that it won't look stunning even on consoles.

Just my 2 cents obviously...
(and Titanfall looks crappy even on PC)

Hmmm....you do make a lot of sense for someone from "the internet". I have faith in that sexy red engine of theirs.

Frankly, my biggest concern is that they include the Polish language track on the North American PS4 release.

My first reaction:

Then I read the letter.
I understand that you wanted to postpone the release of the game because you need more time and so there is little to say in this case: take all the time you need if you really want to offer a product which satisfies both you and our expectations. We can wait.
Thank you CDPR, I'm sure that our trust is well placed. Good work. :)

Need to mention that reactions to these news are very frustrating. I'm not talking about this forum but in general. People freaking out for no reason.

I was worried after such anticipation it might be rushed like Gothic 3, but as they say for every JoWooD there's a CDPR. So for me it's good news :)
Take your time guys, we believe in you!

They shouldn't divert any attention off TW3, they are already busy with Cyberpunk as well.
New screenshots are what we should get.

It's just knee-jerk because of this whole current Watch_Dogs shit. Not to mention that I'll go out on a presumptuous limb here & say that ALOT of people that are looking forward to TW3 probably have either only played 2, or not even played the Series at all, they're just looking for the 'best looking game' for their new consoles & of course 'Open-World' has this magic appeal these days (Casual appeal after Skyrim I guess)... So they don't really know CDPR, how they do business & what they're like. They just hear 'Delay' & assume it's bad, many of these folk probably thought the game would be out before late Q4, the sensible people (Most of the folk here) know that a CDPR delay can only be good & really we're only waiting another few months extra since it was always going to be really late 2014.

The reactions are normal, considering the fact that we are following this game closely for like one year or more but people (including me) are also wishing them best of luck and understand their decision so it's not something I would call "Freaking Out".

February 2015.

First Hideo Kojima's decision not bringing MGS 5 Ground Zeroes to PC at the same time around console release, then The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt's postpone makes me one angry PC Gamer...

Febuary is only 4 weeks after December so I guess it doesnt make much difference. even if they originally planned on releasing the game in November.

Also you don't have to waste money on hardware upgrades to early this year and buy them on sale before christamas :)

It is a good point. My PC is 4 years old already, and I usually buy a new one after 5 years. So sometime around Black Friday 2014 I'll get a new one, and will play TW3 on PC in all its glory. By that time we'll know recommended specs for sure.

I'm really hoping we see 20nm Maxwell GPU's by that time... But who knows, everything to do with the next Gen of GPU's & 20nm is kinda up in the air atm. I usually follow all that stuff pretty closely but even I don't know what the heck is going on.

While i am devastated from then news. I cant say i'm surprised. The game was way to ambitious for the short amount of time that it was scheduled . its better to wait a few more months and have a really great game, than have a good game now that is buggy and unstable. lest not forget about games like the last of us, GTAV that where also delayed and they where incredible experiences.

Good for you, CDPR for your honesty and for being realistic. i hope you meet our expectation.

Of course you could make it up to us by releasing a video with a certain witcheress/sorceress/princess :p

It also gives nVidia a chance to get something beyond stopgap-Maxwell to market, and it gives the supply situation with high-end AMD cards a chance to ease. In the present supply-and-demand situation, waiting is good.

The bean counter on my one shoulder is saying "What will happen to CDPR's earnings if they're not selling the game in Q4 2014?" But the gamer on my other shoulder is saying

I wonder if I should start looking at Broadwell instead of Haswell at this rate as well. Although I really need a new PC tbh. After my GPU burned out my PC turned into a internet browser machine.

I guess I have my consoles though to entertain me and time enough now to save my money at a more casual rate for later. This has lifted a weight of my shoulders in a way.

Hard to say. Broadwell should be a big improvement, but adoption is not just a no-brainer.
Pro: 14nm vs. 22nm should be a huge win on power and speed.

Pro: Intel did decide (after considering ditching the desktop market) to make Broadwell chips available in LGA 1150.

Con: 14nm is damned difficult to manufacture, even for Intel. They have had yield problems, though they're sticking to their prediction of shipments "later this year". Others are skeptical. In any event, there won't be K-series (LGA 1150 desktop) chips available before the fourth quarter.

Con: Broadwell LGA 1150 will NOT be compatible with Haswell LGA 1150. Even if the change is for good sound reasons, it will require new chipsets and motherboards.
