release screens/video of the fullmaxed pc settings to solve the confusion!

All these people here talking about the downgrade and stuff would be calm if the devs would upload a GOOD QUALITY! video or some screenshots about the pc version of the game on the maximum settings. You've already uploaded tons of videos and also allowe reviewers to upload tons of videos, there are also tons of fake videos out there, so there is no reason not to do it.

The most simple way to solve this situation in my opinion would be to release the mentioned video/screenshots.
I'm pretty sure the game looks stunning on the maximum settings with all the fancy eyecandy enabled.
I think all the confusion would go away 2 secs later.

Agreed. Not showing anything just makes people ask more questions.

They've already shown max PC footage. There's no magical super duper secret UberUltraOmfgVGX graphics setting.

Sadly, they have not. Not saying there is a magical graphics setting, but we have not yet seen the final build with everything turned on. There's always something missing (e.g. AA, HBAO+, optional sharpening filters ...).

Guys Please just read this and let it go...

Here's what we know so far.

Benzenzimmern Posted this:

We never switched the textures. On pc, you now have the option to activate "Ultra" quality textures with the full resolution. However, the difference that many people see with new and old footage was a strong sharpening filter in 2013 that looks awesome on screenshots and in short videos, but strains the eyes after a short while if there is a lot of movement (leaves and grass swaying in the wind as an example). That's why it was decided to tone that effect down. However, people who really want to have it can of course use the Redkit to change the environment settings. It's just a matter of taste.

Marcin posted this:

He then posted this:

http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threa...=1#post1661041

HE SAID this was from the PC VERSION. He did NOT STATE that this was the FINAL PC VERSION.

And also - if you read this article - He posted this: http://www.dsogaming.com/news/cd-pro...ese-platforms/

As Marcin noted, the differences between the PC and the PS4 version will be:

– draw distance
– framerate
– resolution
– exclusive features such as hairworks

Everything seems to be leading that the PC version should be able to hit the 2013 / e3 2014 video quality. HOWEVER no one has seen this in the past few weeks. The only video I can find that looks better than what we've been seeing is Angryjoe's preview build gameplay. Which is.. .here: (And to be honest, we don't even know what SETTINGS he has selected)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJpWBMH9EtQ - BUT even this has lower texture quality, and before anyone jumps on the youtube bandwagon. I understand YT compression, yada yada yada. HOWEVER, the 2013 / e3 2014 videos are all on youtube and they still look better.

The end. It comes down to - if you pre-ordered it and hate the recent footage, I would cancel it - wait for the first few weeks, see what INI tweaks can take place and see where the game goes from there.

Youtube videos are not any kind of evidence of a supposed downgrade. They simply lack the fidelity to be such evidence.

"Downgrade" threads get locked unless they present real new evidence. This thread is on notice.

Good news!

The nearest release of the footage you're asking for will be in just 2.5 days.

I've gotta say: While I understand some people are upset by the downgrade-talk or just don't want to see that anymore I have no idea why the moderation seems to be way more lenient with people posting completely unnecessary comments like "in before lock!" or "this will be locked anyway!" and similar stuff. It's not helping in keeping these threads civil and on topic at all.

Why are so many people asking for PC footage? It's almost 99.99% certain that the footage will look identical to consoles with a little bit of hairworks in the mix. That Day 1 patch won't bring back 2013 or even 2014 graphics (let alone all the foliage they removed/butchered), so not sure why people are still clinging to dear life for the faintest trace of hope?

No, that's thanks to the moderators. Do you really believe somebody who's angry/disappointed because a real or perceived downgrade is going to be more civil if he reads stuff like "In before locked! :D"? These kinds of comments get people even more riled up. Which is why "back-seat moderation" is generally frowned upon in most forums, no idea about this one though. :)

Hello people, i really dont care about ''downgrade'', i just want to ask one question.

I think Marcin told us there is only one version of the game, and i just read interview with Fabian Döhla who says:

PCGH: Are the consoles really "to blame" for the fact that the PC version of The Witcher 3 looks worse than it might look like?

Fabian (CD project): No. We made quite early clear that we are developing 'both' versions independently. We started on PC and have a sepperate team and an own development for PC. Effects that does not work on consoles, are still being kept on PC. There are features on the PC, which does not exist on consoles. These include the 60 fps, Hairworks, the draw distance, the resolution. On a good PC you have the best version of The Witcher 3. The PC version looks better on such a PC as on consoles.

so i want to ask is there only one version, or two versions?

Here is the interview http://www.pcgameshardware.de/The-Witcher-3-PC-237266/Specials/The-Witcher-3-Upgrade-1159166/

To be honest it seems very difficult to get answers to a lot of questions currently. Marcin himself seems to contradict himself half the time and if we're starting to factor in other developer statements the whole situation is simply completely unclear. I was hoping for some clear statements, preferably with high quality footage of all versions provided by CD RED but I believe we simply won't know anything for sure until some dedicated gaming magazines have taken a close look at the PC version.

Nice read even through Google translate. Now this is a very positive interview on the face of it so I'm hoping it turns out to be correct. I only have 2 issues:

1: he claims the recent PC vids look worse due to YouTube compression. But that same compression is in place for the earlier vids too but they still look insane.

2: CPR could easily release in game screen shots from their latest build for comparison to alay the fears of fans and prove all the naysayers wrong.

At least we don't have long to wait to see for ourselves.
