Renew-Cahir bug?

I was playing against NG and in the 3rd round, there was no gold card in either graveyard besides Cahir. I used Renew, but the Cahir card did not appear on my side of the board. I know you can't trigger Cahir's Deploy ability in a non NG deck ( according to his card description ), but shouldn't i have gotten the 4 strength gold card?

Cahir should never appear in the graveyard in the first place because he is doomed. Now I am wondering how he got there.

Oops! I forgot about the Doomed tag, but when i played Renew, the selection window popped up and Cahir was there for sure, it's just that after i selected him, nothing happened. If it happens again, i hope i'll remember to take a screenshot.
