[REQ] x 2: Stop automatic sheathing; allowing choice of starting stats

the first is all about the fact that when im running around a cave with a torch, i cant raid a barrel or corpse or anything at all without having the stupid game sheathing it, forcing me to pull it back out. and the same for after a battle. i finish a battle, and click on the torch, but it just auto sheaths and i cry a little inside... i dont want to use the Stuff mod for the auto cat vision cause then what the hells the point of making the potion or having torches at all?the second is for those of us who would prefer a witcher with higher endurance with vitality sacrificed. basically, a choice of like 100 vitality and 25 endurance or 60 vitality and 60 endurance. also, perhaps allow 4 bronze talents to be distributed in whatever area u choose right before the first fight or right after. it would add a great amount of depth without having to change much.

On the other hand, witchers are supposed to see in the dark after their mutations without potions (Eskel tells Geralt so in Kaer Morhen).

yeah i know. its a problem in the story. if it wasnt for that one line, everyone would agree, but since they put it in there AND included torches and the potion, its true both ways, but easier to think they just didnt think about it after they wrote it. i mean, the original game seemed to have a lot of "didnt think about it" goin on when released, ya know

Mh, okay... the torch is in reality not really practical for illuminating purposes. You know how it is with a light source close to your eyes, everything around you is pitch black. BUT. It does have a practical use as a weapon against echinopsae in the first act. So all that is left standig in your way is the cat potion. Which maybe is a "light" and temporary version of the mutagen and rather supposed to be used by persons without cat eyes. Which are the second piece of evidence why Geralt can see in the dark by himself. But go on, use your potions, but when the time comes when you have to drink several potions to survive (and really have no free hand to carry a match around), you'll be glad for your natural cat eyes. ;)

First: you're not the first one to ask that question and since no one has made it happen yet, I guess it'a not possible.Second: that's what Maribor Forest and Tawny Owl are for - more endurance but same vitality, sorry. Use one of Flash's mods to make that more difficult.Third: feel free to ignore me when I only try to help.

In the books Geralt can already see in the dark but the potion enhances that further and allows him to see in pitch black and it also sharpens his hearing. He used it against the Striga. I suppose in the game Geralt's fully dependent on Cat to see in the dark because CDP didn't know how to do 'degrees' of night vision.

yeah, ive been goin through the 15 pages here and ive noticed exactly that-- many requests for no auto sheathing. wonder why so many people can ask for that in the official forums for what, like a year, and not have somethin come out. crazy. either it cant be done or this community really is extremely small and people dont do requests much.what i mean is starting stats, not drinking potions. big difference. thats like sayin why try a harder difficulty when u can just use one hand when playing? im talkin about a way to make the game more playable for people who like the magic styles more than melee (even though im not one of them)
